Painted Brake Calipers

Hey guys,
I'm thinking about painting the stock brake calipers. I have a Dark Gray Metallic BRZ. I think red looks great on red cars, but beyond that I am unsure.

With that, I am wondering about painting the calipers to match the body? Although this might not be noticeable at all. At the same time, I think red might look like I'm trying too hard.. (borderline rice?)

Opinions? Pictures of body colored/matching calipers?

black is understated and kinda stealthy.... yellow / red on the other hand says "i cant afford big brake kit so i cheaped out with caliper paint from walmart"

just my opinion...

red caliper paint makes your car go faster:party0030:

My red calipers say, "I paid a guy $100 to paint them because they look better and I have no need for a BBK despite the a-hole's comment above mine". LOL

I CBA to paint mine but if I did I would go for silver or gold. I have the same colour car BTW. To me, understated wins....

Appreciate the input guys. I think I am going to try red (when the weather warms up to at least above freezing). I figure if I don't like it - it's only paint, it will come off!

I might even try one side red, one side dark gray metallic just to see which I like better since I still can't completely make up my mind. :iono:

Powder coated mine ZR1 Blue. I was originally debating blue or a silver. The silver would be more of a subdued and subtle style but I figured I might as well go all in and give it some pop with blue. I think it came out pretty nice.

Slightly less actually. Although I didn't expect it, he wire brushed everything, sprayed the hubs black, clear coated and then applied FR-S decals. Two years later they look perfect.

Everything on my car is black with little red touches, except my titanium blue shift knob:)

Just wish it wasn't garage bound until April.

the red will look good with the dark gray, post pictures when they're done.

Flamboyant colors look great on upgraded brake calipers. Just my opinion, but I don't think it's tasteful to draw attention to them if they come stock on a $30k car. I'm not knocking them, they are great brakes, I've just seen too many painted ones on Civics and Neons. The stock aluminum looks pretty nice. If someone offered me a Free Brembo upgrade I wouldn't say no though.

:-)
