they're fun. i used to have a velocty stg 1 gsxr 1k back when things like that were all the rage (early 2000s). got stolen like 2 months after i finished it.

Seems like the alternative to laxitives if you really need to shit your pants. But no seriously, I don't think I'd be able to afford the life insurance on a liter turbo bike

evo4g63 05-20-2014 04:03 PM

This car at the power level he is at will hurt some 600cc street bikes feelings.

If I had the balls to run Map4 which made close to 550 whp... But its kind of diminished returns, zero traction....

jamesm 05-20-2014 04:07 PM

they might get you up to about 100 or so but you'd murder them after that. gotta find a long enough piece of straight road :)

I mean a Panigale will wreck a Turbo S up to ~130-150, but then the Porsche will walk it. Bikes are the kings of acceleration.

EDIT: here's a video of a GT2 RS

i want a panigale so bad. should've waited to sell the 848 until after they came out. then again... the 848 funded the turbo build so i can't complain :).

Ironsquid 05-20-2014 04:15 PM

bikes are too fast, damn, time to perform two wheel FRS mod.

When I saw Godzilla this weekend I watched 2 Daytona R and 2 899 Panigale pull out of a single parking spot. Twas glorious. Then saw one of the Panigales get wiggly on an overpass on a slick spot. :confused0068:

NA, you won't need to run that MAP. I was beating 600cc street bikes in my srt4 on pump gas, 22psi and around 425whp. Now they would get a quick jump but by 90mph I'd real them in pretty good. Granted this was roll racing from around 40-60mph. You'd be surprised at how many hurt feelings would come from your lower powered MAP's.

cdrazic93 05-20-2014 05:09 PM

This thread got derailed quickly...lol

Edit: @Ironsquid was right, this thread pulled the two wheel mod

AllDayJonRay 05-20-2014 05:41 PM

So that's how you say "Panigale"...

Ironsquid 05-20-2014 05:50 PM

Same thing for me. Me and three buds all got sport bikes at the same time then by the end I was the only one left riding and I had swapped to a Speed Triple. Now I have another buddy that got a bike, so I figured it was time to give it another go. Definitely something everyone should experience at some time.

A little update for my car

Hopped on the Dyno yesterday, made 533 WHP. Temp. reading was 104F. Numbers are right in line with what I made a year and a half ago, so still running that James Martin solid tune and great Kabcustoms Sunrise turbo kit. On a cool night (75F) I made on Map3 496 WHP and on Map4 552 WHP. Yesterday on this weather I made 469 WHP on Map3 and on Map4 533 WHP. Not bad!
For reference a BRZ with tune, intake and exhaust dynoed right before me and made 145 whp

Hahahahha so quiet right....

19-20 psi on that highest map, which I really don't use much as there's no traction until 4th.

I love my Speed Triple!!!!

Kiske 04-30-2015 12:43 AM

David, have you had anymore issues with the flex fuel kit's fitting leaking since you originally threw it on?

Thankfully none. And I don't have any fancy lines either, just high pressure, E85 rated rubber lines and hose clamps.
