How its going to play out

As Toyota (usa) has not advertised the gt/ft 86 I am fearing the ultimate bait and switch. remember seeing that 240sx driven by Alice the cotton top? yup that whats gonna happen . The guys who watched Dukes of Hazard already got the demons out of their system. The FX (ae82) came in 3 flavors the base model was 4ac the gts was much heavier with sunroof and adjustable steering column. it was the mid model that was a 4age powered street fighter.i bet toyotas hp/lbs. ratio will be found in the mid model as well. i wll not pass up the lsd thou. yeah ill get the ft86 but only cause im a toyota dude. im not expecting a perfomer just a car the wife can drive so i dont have to hear complaints about that faded '87 20v pwered hustler. So why do you think toyotas holding out? fear of recall?

They're not advertising it because they don't need to. Almost all of them have been bought up already, and those that haven't won't need any sort of marketing campaign to get them off of the lots.

Plus Toyota branded the Gt86 as a Scion in NA to help with Scion's branding/sales and its target demographic more fits in-line with the philosophy of the car.

Toyota typically hasn't advertised Scions until they are already in showrooms, and they usually advertise in narrower TV markets. After June 1, you'll probably see FR-S commercials on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block, FX, SPEED, NBC Sports, SyFy, etc.

The 1st86 saw a preview of the advertising campaign that is coming when we were in Long Beach. The launch date for the advertising is 6/1. They have three separate ads in development that will be running nationally to kick off the media blitz.

To balance this, I haven't seen any Subaru mass media marketing either.

True, why blitz the media when they're already blitzing consumer's for both cars? It's all about the Cheddar!$$$$!

LOL!

When the water is gray and it covers the road, I can drift to the ends of the earth, until I crash into the wall like Ken.
