OpenFlash Tablet: new v1.40b maps, new website, new sales, oh my

Nice to be back with lots of updates/news!

1) New beta maps (v1.40b)
v1.40b Changes (as per the read me file):
-Added Stage 1 and Stage 2 map support for ZA1JA01N (Asian market) ROM
-Added Stage 1 and Stage 2 map support for new 2014 BRZ/FR-S (ZA1JB00C)
-In USDM E85 ROMs (Stage 2 E85 ZA1JA01C and Stage 2 E85 ZA1JA01D), we now differentiate between cars with Equal Length (EL) and Unequal Length (UEL) headers. The Stage 2 EL E85 tune is renamed (formerly Stage 2 E85) but unchanged from the v1.34 release. However, the Stage 2 UEL E85 tune is new and completely different. It is highly developed and has only been tested in cars with the OpenFlash UEL header. It is considered Beta status and should be used only be those who are sufficiently comfortable with data-logging and analysis.
-Stage 2 EL E85 maps have been approved for use in completely stock vehicles running E85.
-All non-USDM and USDM-ZA1JB00C (2014 BRZ/FR-S) tuned ROMs and considered Beta status.
-Adjusted checksum values so all ROMs can be opened in RomRaider without displaying checksum error.
-Re-enabled diagnostics routines for o2 sensor faults in Stage 2 and Stage 2 E85 maps. If you trigger these faults, it is due to an exhaust leak at your header flanges from not replacing gaskets when you installed your header.

2) Our NEW WEBSITE that is 100% dedicated to the BRZ/FR-S/GT86! It's still in its infancy stage but there is still a lot of new content (new products, new pics, etc,.) There is some holiday sale info and details on our OFT Dollar Discount program. We wanted to make the OFT literally pay for itself so this is what we came up with :)
And by popular demand, we now have an option for those folks who already own a pre-existing locked tunes and want to make the switch to the OFT.

3) We now have OFT maps (pump gas and E85) for the Phantom Electric Supercharger (Dyno Results HERE). Vortech SC maps should be available by early January. Both will be available to our OFT customers by request.

4) Also, we now official support RomRaider for map editing. The RomRaider team has done an excellent job of creating definition files (XMLs) for many different ROM cal IDs. This means more available time for us to work on firmware updates (new features!). Many of the RomRaider XMLs we now have available for download should only be used to edit the ROMs we have available for download. They may or may not work when viewing your original ROM.

I'll be active on this thread for the rest of the day so feel free to ask any questions :)

Cheers
shiv

Sweeeeeeeeet, I've been sitting in this subforum all day waiting for this. Anxious to try out the new E85 maps after my track day this weekend, when I can switch to the corn juice again. I also checked out the new site this morning, looking good, keep it up!

Oh, question, have any changes been made to the e85 maps to resolve any of the cold start issues people are having?

Hi Shiv,

I just did a comparison on 1.40B vs 1.34B Stage 2 ROM for ZA1J700G (EU MT) and it seems like the only change is re-enabling of the O2 sensor diagnostic. No other further adjustments made on AFR ?

Correct. The only mapping changes (besides o2 sensor diagnostics) pertain to newly supported ROMs (ZA1JB00C and ZA1JA01N) and USDM (ZA1JA01C and ZA1JA01D) Stage 2 UEL E85 tunes. International ROMs are unchanged. But now there is RomRaider support for map editing.

I'm confused, are the new el and uel tunes for e85 only or is their a uel tune for pump gas. Also, what are the gain differences.

I will test the tune with my borla uel headers and post the datalog results here.

There is no change to cold start values in the E85 maps. We haven't run into cold start issues in our test car so it's hard to us to make any prudent changes. It seems our E85 source is providing a winter blend unlike some of the other E85 sources which have reported to still run a summer blend with high E% content. Hopefully there are those who can make successful cold start mapping changes and let me know what works for them so I can apply it to the OTS maps in the next release.

Hi Shiv,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I was hoping for some revisions on the AFR as I've done some WOT logging on 1.34B and AFR was showing like 11+, which was a bit too rich imo. I wonder if this should be the correct AFR expected for stage 2 ROM ?

It's hard for me to do revisions on international cars/fuel that I don't have access to. We can do some e-tuning support if that is something that you are interested. If so, email me at shiv@vishnutuning.com. It takes some time to dial it in correctly but it's a good option if you are comfortable with making the changes yourself or don't have a local tuner who can do it for you.

Cheers

The new EL and UEL tunes are for E85 tunes only. We will differentiate between EL and UEL on gasoline tunes soon once we go back to running gasoline in our test car.

The differences between the two tunes (and two headers) can be seen here:

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k4...06/UELvsEL.jpg
Runs 174 and 174 OpenFlash Header with OFT Stage 2 UEL E85 tune
Runs 151 and 152 EL header with with OFT Stagr 2 EL 85 tune

Summary: OFH with OFT UEL tune made more top end power and had less torque dip
Note: Vehicle was also equipped with Perrin drop in filter and modified (shortened) air duct

Hi Shiv,

I just sent u an email with logging attached (via datazap) for you to take a look. Most probably I'll need e-tuning support from your end.

Victor Draken 12-11-2013 07:23 PM

what is oft dollar i couldn't see any description about it.

Fast_Freddy 12-11-2013 07:25 PM

What is the procedure for getting one of the OFT generic base tunes corrected for a particular setup? I understand that these base tunes should be in the ball park but obviously they need to be fine-tuned for different setups. Is this supposed to be Shiv or the end-user? What does it cost for each remote tune update from Shiv?

jeebus 12-11-2013 07:30 PM

nice work on everything! still loving the corn tune...just wish i didn't have to fill up so damn often :P
