Good render is still render.

Agreed, and even a close to production show concept is still just a concept (heck look at even the last concept of the 86 vs the production version, two very different cars).

Still, even the camouflaged mules/test models all seem to have the droopy nose thing which leaves me no words to describe how much I don't like it.

Apparently that droopy nose is Toyota's new thing. Not a fan either.

I do find it amusing (whether intentional or not) the camo wrap gives the car nostrils at the end of that nose...

I think the render looks fantastic. The C7 looks like a Hot Wheels car gone bad in my opinion. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I probably won't be able to afford one for another decade though. I hope my kids realize how much I sacrificed for them one day. :sigh:

Hmmm, maybe that's why I like the C7 so much.....

I definitely see where some folks would like it. I'd probably be all over it too if the it had a nose job. Guess we'll have to see what the shipping product looks like but as @Tcoat said, it seems to be Toyota's current design language to hint at an F1 type nose on the car.

Could be worse

Let's be honest. Could anything be worse than the Prius? lol

I like the rendering from the rear, but the front of that rendering looks horrible.

Outside of the Twins I feel like Japanese styling has gone to hell since the late 90s. Most stuff is/was super bland and then to "stand" out the Japanese designers have gone full nuclear with chunky cheesy designs that will age faster than raw chicken left on the kitchen counter.:barf:

I blame Hyundai with their "flowing organic body lines" for much of what we see now. They started it really and it made them huge so it just spread across the east from there.

For comparison purposes.

It looks fat and I still don't like the side mirror location. I hope it changes a ton before the production model rolls out :/

R_E_L 02-04-2017 10:57 PM

the thing that I like the least in these renders is that everything from the windshield forward looks too high, so the rear looks lower than it should. The low hood line of the concept is one if its best features, and the pretty rear end didn't transfer over from the concept to these renders. I hope its just a matter of extra panels hiding the true lines of the car
