sub enclosure behind driver seat

So as we all know the backseats in our car are useless with the driver side being even more useless because theres no room to work the clutch with someone there, so i thought why not get rid of it and replace it with some bass?

So my idea is to remove the foam seat cover and replace it with a 8" maybe 10" sub. I want to keep the folding back so it has to be small enough to keep that.

Heres a picture of the removed seat for an idea of what I'm working with.

Can someone point me in the right direction for some possible sub enclosure designs, subs that will work with given space, porting, info to make this clean looking and oem, ect.. all info is appreciated.

any update?

yes... box is in the car and damn it thumps with a 10. i will post pics soon.

since i wont have room to mount a harness bar, i will be selling this passenger side box i made.

the next design will incorporate a 2 or 3in notch in the box to allow room for mounting a harness bar support.

Removing the rear seats you could go with a 15" and just use the car as the enclosure.

I have a 12W6v2 sitting here that needs to be put to use. Make me a ported box with an integrated amp rack that looks clean (not flashy) and doesn't weigh 100# and I'm IN.

Just saying.

I'm very interested in this. I'm gonna be swapping my car for a new 86 after a year so I need something I can bolt on/bolt off and throw into the next car. I've got a RHD.

heres some pics of my sub.

looks really nice with the interior IN the car but it is what it is. ill post pics when i get the interior back in the car.

sounds nice with the stock door speakers. plenty of bass imo.

no mounting hole(seat bolt) yet but thats easy. i need a little mesh grill for the sub port. have to decide on what color i want to do. prob wrb or black.
and i gotta switch the kicker out for a jl
