I feel you but anything thing to tip the scale would help me make a choice even if its 1 to 2 whp difference .

IDK how i feel about the brushed metal look of the perrin.

Both companies are really great! I'm with you on the brushed metal look of the Perrin. Personally I think it looks tacky. I think your best bet would be the v1 from ft86speedfactory. I was really close to purchasing their v1 exhaust for the simple fact that you can interchange their v2 exhaust for the track by removing the axle back portion of the v1 and fitting their axle back portion of the v2. Good customer service too, I ordered my front pipe from them and it shipped pretty quickly.

Whp wise, they're about the same. The only difference (I guess) would be weight but it wouldn't be anything close to substantial.

Thank you just the type of advice i needed .
What exhaust do you run btw?

chiefshayan 12-10-2013 12:52 PM

I run a Milltek non-resonated catback exhaust with Motiv concept test pipe (decatted) and it's loud. Milltek is similar to Perrin and Speedfactory. I purchased the Milltek because the north america distributor for the company is close-by me. You can't go wrong either way

That is the variance from a single dyno.... Go dyno your car. Dyno it again. It will vary by 1-2whp.

Don't let that be your deciding factor, since you'll get very similar results from most catbacks. There is no "god" exhaust.... So when theres differences of 1-2hp, just go with the one you like best, in terms of sound, price, quality, etc

I'm with the OP, this has also been my dilemma for the past couple weeks. i've got headers but i'm scared the speedfactory would be too loud and perrin too quiet. :iono:

U have the V1 and it's the best exhaust for this car in my opinion. It has the beat note compared to any other exhaust I've seen in person. I also have a Motiv concepts front pipe in front of the catback and absolutely love the sound. It has a deeper note to it and sounds amazing l. Hope this helps

I can assure you with a header, you will not think the perrin is too quiet, was the perfect balance between not too loud and not too quiet.

skip to 1:20 after the initial drive off to hear a driveby at about 75% throttle.

Don't think you can really go wrong with either choice. Both are great companies and I like the sound of both.

I would pick based on what future mods you might want to get. I have FT86SF's resonated V1 and their catted UEL header with resonated front pipe. Its incredible. Perfect volume and a nice aggressive growl. However, if you want a catless header instead of a catted one in the future, I think the V1 might be too loud, at least it would be for me.

If you are not planning on a header, the Perrin is a bit too quiet IMO.

These things are so subjective though. One man's "too loud" is another mans "perfect!" I highly doubt you will regret either one.
