Share your Unichip mapping w/mods

I have not seen any thread talk about which mapping you prefer on the Unichip. Let post up your mods and the mapping you like. ENJOY!!

Since i created this thread, I will start.

Only mods i have so far is AEM intake with fuel out and timing in (most aggressive).

My mods are TRD intake, Lachute performance OP/cat delete FP, and the map that I like the most (suprinsingly) is TRD intake, all headers, Fuel out timing in. I am running 94 octane only as well.

For some reason the headers map pulls noticeably more than the all catback map that unichip said was likely to run best. I also asked, and they say there are no risks in running the headers map, as long as the map is for the correct intake...

I only have 91 octane here in my state, so I'm mapping the highest octane Unichip provided. My mapping does pull the car well and idle does not dip anymore. I was testing the fuel standard and timing in, but the car shake like is going to stall when in second in low speed while aggressive mapping stop that. I still need to test other mapping and see if any are those can be better than the one i am using. Im glad you found your best mapping for your car! Thanks for sharing!!

I personally enjoyed their most consevative mAp which was timing out fuel in

tell us your feeling on the timing out , fuel in mapping. Good pull, few more power, etc...

Honestly, its a waste of time and money now that i have had the experience of a proper tune. Sorry for the brutal honesty.

currently fuel +/timing +

I tried fuel~/timing~, fuel -/timing ~, fuel ~/timing +

Care to share differences/preference reasons from your experience?

I think he's coming to the conclusion most either have or will. Unichips are great, if they're all that's available they'll do the job somewhat well. That said, you'll never get anywhere near the kind of control you can get with a now-cheaper reflash. Without low-level control of all the various things, achieving good results is very difficult, or impossible in some cases.

Unichip can't:
Scale port injectors directly (I.e. Without a maf hack)
Scale direct injectors at all (no e85 for you!)
Modify knock control parameters
Adjust advance independent of base timing
Control di/port ratio (crucial to getting things right in the first place)
Adjust dbw maps
Many, many, many more

So basically you can't really do anything with it beyond tricking the ecu into adjusting fuel or timing. None of the vast subie knowledge on the Internet applies, can't use the common tools, and there will just be many issues that simply cannot be properly fixed with any piggyback because you just flat-out can't do what you need to do.

It feels like it pulls a little better. Plus with the cooler air I wanted to add fuel.

On an NA setup, with just bolt ons, does anyone know how that actually translates to HP??? I'd be surprised that the difference be substantial between bolt ons supported by Unichip vs Ecutek or other flash.

probably not much if anything in terms of peak hp, except maybe from the ability to adjust cam timing. driveability and the stability of the tune are the biggest benefits i'd say. of course once you consider the ability to run e85, it makes a lot more power lol.

i think unichip is probably the best piggyback out there, but it's still a piggyback, and there isn't much need for them when flashes can be had so inexpensively.

They have Unichip tuner in certain tuning place, but i don't know how much they charge and how well it can perform.
