CEL visit coming up at Servco Scion

I hope they aren't going to be stupid about my mods when I go in for a CEL my car is throwing. I only have wheels, springs, crank pulley, and a unichip on my car. I'm gonna remove the Unichip before going in, but Servco can be stupid about mods sometimes, right?

Do any of you guys with modded up cars have any experiences (good or bad) with the service department?

Thanks

What CEL code are you having?

it depends if it something that could of broke because of the mods they'll just tell you to take it off and come back thats what they always do to me.

my CEL came on for running lean and faulty injector and they just told me to take off my intake put the stock one back on and come back

Should I just take off my intake and crank pulley already?

Did you scan it yet? What's the code? Could just be something like your gas cap.

I don't have an OBDII scanner. :( *shame*

You live in Kaneohe? I live in Kaneohe and have something that could read it if you want to meet up. Just send me a PM and we can figure something out.

I just purchased one on Amazon. If it doesn't work out (mixed reviews), then I'll definitely give you a PM. Thanks!

Can't Autozone or Persons scan it for free?

SurfAndSand 12-13-2013 03:38 PM

Got my wireless scanner in. Looks like an O2 sensor and engine is running rich. Doesn't explain why my traction control light is on though. :p

Anyway, I'm gonna pull off my intake and my Unichip before bringing it in. I don't think either was the problem, but I'd rather not give Servco any reason to give me a hard time. I've had such bad luck with their customer service.

I don't think I'm buying another vehicle from Servco if their customer service keeps going the way it has for my last couple of service visits.

Try taking off that unichip thing, I'm 90% sure that's why your car is running rich.

I tried turning off the UniChip. Oddly enough, the car ran much worse. LOL.

It looks like the UniChip was helping to fix the problem with the car.

Without the UniChip, the throttle would stutter a lot on start, and at lower RPMs. Enough that I couldn't get the car moving reliably without revving her up to 2-2.5k or else I'd likely stall. Even when accelerating at lower speeds, the car would judder some, and then it would start going but at reduced power levels.

With the UniChip, it just felt like reduced power levels.

Anyway, I'm taking off all my power mods and bringing it in... @Unichip Jack
