Hello San Diego!
 

Hey guys I am moving back to San Diego after being out in Hawaii for the last 8 years looking forward to going to the Fr-s meets!! but last time I lived there I was not old enough to have a car yet and now I wonder how do you guys get away with modifying your cars at all?!? The laws are so strict out there any input is appreciated thank you! and I can't wait to meet the Fr-s crew in San Diego

Talked to some San Diego guys. Asked them the same question. They said unless the cop feels like being a real ****, people don't usually get in trouble.

Just don't drive like a jack hole and they tend to leave you alone. So far, I haven't gotten any flack for the FRS. Most cops don't give it a second look. Keep the noise reasonable and drive like a reasonable person and you should be fine.

Haha Krukusa well I don't think mine stands out that much what about those smog laws and tests do you guys just put your car back to stock for those?

You either swap parts back or "know a guy". It's easier to know a guy...just sayin'

Like the above said. I don't have a front plate and I have a 30% tint on all my windows but have yet to get a ticket for it as long as I don't drive like a douche.

And smog can be a pain in the ass but its either swap out your parts or pay the $100-$200 premium.

We have something kind of similar in Hawaii our "safety check" but I know guys out here too bad I don't know anyone in San Diego besides my grandparents and last I checked they weren't driving built Scions lol but I appreciate all the feedback guys gives me a better idea than googling does :/
