How many FR-S/BRZ owners are former AE86 owners?
If yes, post up! https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-t...corolla_01.jpg 1985 GT-S Coupe https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-x...corolla_02.jpg 85 GT-S / 87 SR5 / 86 SR5 Parts Car http://i49.tinypic.com/2cgnaya.jpg Some of the other cars I have owned |
Love the Bus. :)
My old AE86: http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2206/2...78c1104f_z.jpg It wasn't a really defining car for me. But it was one of the more fun cars I've owned. The cars I currently own: 2007 Subaru STI http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3059/2...c07d8fbb_z.jpg 2003 Subaru WRX [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGW2pxaiJs0"]11/13/11 Fort Wayne SCCA Rally X: M4 16_03.MOV - YouTube[/ame] 2007 Subaru Legcay spec.B (will be traded for a BRZ) http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4114/4...eac374b3_z.jpg 1991 Ford E-350 Ambulance (Tow vehicle for the WRX) http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5263/5...9f5814af_z.jpg Past cars from latest to earliest: 1986 Toyota Corolla Deluxe (above) 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII 1981 Buick Regal 1998 Pontiac Trans Am 1987 Nissan Pulsar SE 1987 Nissan Pulsar |
Wow, what are the chances that the 2nd post author would have a support vehicle similar to my "Bondo Condo". I was originally shopping for an ambulance, but I wanted more room so I went with a shuttle bus instead. I've been kind of wanting an ambulance still, though, hehe. You can check out the Bondo Condo build here:
http://www.skoolie.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=5888 So that makes two previous AE86 owners. There must be more, right!?! |
I had an AW, but not an AE. That was a fun car.
Just need an FX16 owner to pop in and we'll have the 4a drivetrain trifecta. |

Zip ahead a month and a half and I'm driving past the same lot and it's still there. I walk in and say "So, how do you feel about $3K now?" and they sold it to me. :) It has a lot of issues, and rust, so I'm not sure just how much money I want to put into it. But it hauls the car, carries all my tools, and gives me a place to shack out on 2-day events. So it's a keeper for the near future at least. :) |
I had an 86 back in the late 80's before they became so popular. Back then, it was just another cheap import turd lol. At the time, I hated it and I would much rather had a 5.0 Mustang or an IROC.

I had an 85 hatchback. I sold it on the move to CA 3 1/2 years ago.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...IMG_6828-1.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...e/IMG_0046.jpg Still have the WRX wagon. It's my DD. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...kigrve/wrx.jpg After moving to CA I sold the car to a buddy in Austin TX who had a Levin coupe. He then had both of the Levin's in Austin. But about a month later this happened: http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3.../Image1729.jpg I also recently offloaded my 89 240 hatch. I'm waiting impatiently for the FRS to come out. |
Had a 1985 GT-S that was sold last year.
|
Not I!
I've only owned Toyota trucks and SUV's. 4Runner, Taco, FJC, and Land Cruisers. |
I had an 1985 GT-S Coupe long time ago... i was trying to build it in my back yard but that was before i had money and resources.... im considering this 86 build to finish what i couldn't even begin to start back then :) Cant wait to get in a frs!:w00t:

terrypm & ESBjiujitsu, no photos?
Aonarch, I am cracking up that you replied in this topic to tell us that you HAVEN'T owned an AE86. :) But since you are obviously a Toyota-head you earned it. |
I should also post that my AE86 has a bit of a history with the drift community. It was Tony Angelos car at one point. I heard they jumped train tracks with it amongst other stories. When it died there was a thread on Ziptied called "death of a legend."

not sure if i'm going to buy a new FRS/BRZ, but i plan to have one (maybe) someday. haha.
Here's my 20v GTS Coupe: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...221_165509.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...331_130409.jpg |
I have an AE86 at the moment. Its actually Taka Aono's old car that he won two national championships with in SCCA. I want to get a FR-S, but I really shouldn't.
