I do.
what did you pick up?

dbrandt01 12-07-2013 01:51 PM

I wouldn't completely say I collect them. I do have two boxes full from what I've kept from my childhood.

I collect what I feel is cool. Certainly NOT every one. I like "realistic" HW, esp if they are sportscars, racecars.

Recently I found a black Toyota 2000 GT, a '70 Celica (green) and a Datsun 620 Truck. Also a Red 2000 GT a few months back.

HW were started in 1967, FWIW, I had a few back then. REALLY wish I still had some of them. I was 7 in 1967. HW were so cool to me then. It was my link to cars.

I've still got a few redlines in near mint condition from when I was a kid in the 60's and 70's, maybe 40 - 50 of them.

Then I started picking them up again in the 90's. I probably have 600 or so now, all unopened in the blister packs. Mostly real cars, and heavily 60's and 70's era. Lot's of 70 Chevelles, in every color!

My son wanted me to buy him a red HW FR-S we saw on EBay today (hes six). The $1 price was great but the $22.95 shipping killed it.

I still can't find a FRS, I want one. Another thing I wanted to ask was how do you guys display them? As in keep them in the package or open them up.
