I'm looking for a OEM wiring kit for my fog light system that I purchase from Diode Dynamics but there kit connect to the head lights and does not have a switch. what would be the best cheap way to go ? |
If you already have lights and the bezel all you need is 84160-12060 for the interior panel and switch.
Otherwise there is the nigel-jdm wiring kit for $30ish and you can get the panel piece meant for a 10 series https://www.toyota-parts.com/product...ch-Bezel/-617/ |
For those that might be interested..........
I figured out the pin assignments for the 84160-12060 switch. I installed the Diode Dynamics fog light kit, which uses a standard relay, and the head light signal as the trigger to turn the fogs on. With this setup, the fogs come on when your headlights are on. I wanted to install a switch for those times when I might not want the fogs on. I thought about using a simple LED rocker switch, of which I have several colors laying around, and it could be installed in the blank spot on the dash panel-next to the trunk release button. However, I really preferred to keep things looking stock, so I ordered the 84160-12060 switch and the PT413-18130-LL bezel (since I have the 10 Series with the headlight level knob). After a little trial and error, I figured out the pin assignments for the switch to tap into the Diode Dynamics installation at the headlight wiring point. This is a pic of the bezel for the 10 Series: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-k...3-18130-LL.JPG The switch: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-C...0528224125.jpg The business end of the switch: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-L...0528224141.jpg Ignore the gray housing at the bottom end of the switch. I cut it to fit the small wiring connector I will use. There are four pins on this switch. Looking from left to right, and numbered 1 to 4, respectively, these are the pin assignments: 1 and 2 - These are your switch pins. 12 volt in and 12 volt out - to hook to a relay, or the point where the DD fogs tap into the headlight wiring. When the switch is pressed, it completes the circuit across these two pins. 3 - 12 volt power - (switched power (ignition switch) would be best here so you don't cause unnecessary drain on your batter if you should leave the switch in the ON position when the vehicle is off. 4 - Ground Wiring the switch this way will turn on your fogs when depressed, and also turn on the amber LED in the switch that illuminates the fog symbol. Cheers! |
On a side note, if you have an FR-S without the Auto-levelling you can order PT413-18130 (without the LL) and it won't have the logo for the headlight levelling. Can get it from Toyota-parts just as someone posted above just put into google. Otherwise it is the exact part, you transfer the black blank piece from current bezel as seen below.

After some more testing with my Diode Dynamics fog light wiring and this switch............I ended up putting the switch (pins 1 & 2) across the black wire for the headlight where the DD wring taps into it with a simple male and female .25 inch spade connectors. The power wire (Pin 3) I tapped into the red wire on the headlight harness where the DD kit connects to using a posi-tap connector. Lastly, I grounded pin 4 to the chassis by simply tapping into my DD ground wire with another posi-tap. Everything works as I wanted now. When the headlights are turned on, it activates the relay for the DD fog lights and powers up the light on the fog switch at the dash. Switch toggles the fog lights on and off. Cheers! |
Necro bump. Where is the best place to purchase the trunk release bezel and other Toyota/Subaru OEM parts?

Try toyotaparts.bochtoyotasouth-dot-com
They have really good prices. I ordered several pieces from them. |
Do you guys think that bezel housing switch would fit in scion frs limited edition 2015? I bought a yellow winjet fog light kit with switch button and just found out there is no empty space for the fog light switch.I'm thinking if I bought this bezel so I can use the switch button for the fog light.
Do you have idea how/where to get through the wiring inside the under board inside the driver side? thanks! |
Try Xtralights website or ebay for used ones, they may have them for cheap.
