Jus my opinion, but i think stock class allowing 1pt maximum would widen it up. A lot of pure street guys just run wheels and lowering springs. If not that, then maybe lowering springs on OEM struts should be worth 0 pts since the spring rates can't be increased too high anyways. What's your 2 cents on that?

Then I'd just put retardedly stiff springs on the stock dampers, and deal with the lack of damping, if I were running stock class. ;)

Theres nothing stopping people from doing that in stock class as is. It's for the whole population who just want the lowered look and springs is what i recommend to most people.

Stock class is named Stock, because it's truly meant for stock cars. If you have rims and lowering springs, the car is not stock. The two can add up to quite a bit of gains if chosen carefully. The points are meant to represent the best possible setup for a given mod, not the worst. For example, that's why coilovers are all given the same value, regardless of if you have $500 ebay coilovers or $9000 race coilovers.

BBK is allowed 0 points because it will help with attendance in the long run, i just saw this as a possible thing to point out. The point system seems great and in depth to be but if we are talking about getting the newcomer guy to be involved I would see that slight allowance as a help to getting them involved.

I know most lightly modified newcomers don't even think about competing and bumping them into a more aggressive class doesn't help. This is all based on the premise that i think a lot of average guys buy wheels, tires, and lowering springs. Just would be nice for most guys to show up seeing they're in the "slowest" class and to not be indimiated.

Just throwing this out for discussion, the 0.5 would actually favor the purpose built "stock car imo as it also aligns with SCCA solo stock class more.

Likewise, every class will eventually probably see purpose built cars for that class, that will outpase the rest of the cars in the class.

Ultimately, the driver mod will be the primary determining factor.

The only mod I have in the car are the tires, Michelin Pilot Super Sports 215/45/17 on stock rims. I wonder how many points will I get from these and if it will bump me up a class level?

Did you read the points on the first page? Street tires are zero or negative points, depending on your treadwear rating.
