I've sat in the backseat of the BRZ. I'm 5'11"/6" and weight like 165. It's cramped for me. I'd stab someone that made me sit back there for a long drive, or just drive myself. You can move the passenger seat up and have an okay amount of space.

As Neutron said, a front facing car seat should be no issue. My plan for mine is that behind the passenger is my 2 year olds seat. If you sit in the passenger seat you need to accommodate him if he's in the car as well. So mine will basically be a 2 seater since sitting behind me will be LOL.

All I'm looking forward to is hearing my son say "Gonna ride in Daddy's race car?" Every time he sees the car. He says that for the WRX wagon now, but this will look like more of a race car to him. He's gonna be so excited to see it, and ride in it.

I plan on stuffing my 2.5 year old back there...well, he'll probably be 3 by the time I actually get the car. I'm sure he won't like being back there as much as he likes being in the SUV, cause he won't be able to see shit from back there. But he'll like going fast.

I'm less concerned about my kid's reaction than I am about all of the glares I'll get from parents as I roll up to daycare to pick up my kid in a tiny sports car. :bonk:

Whenever I pull hard in the WRX with my son he starts laughing and saying "Daddy's going fast! That's fun!" I'm usually going 0/5mph - speed limit, but to him it's hella fast. There's nothing else like hearing it. Always makes you smile.

Regarding the glares. Fuck those morons. Some parents are idiots. They are all up in everyone else's business. I have long ass hair, wear game/car/band shirts, wear slim jeans (skinny is too much), and act like a complete clown in public with my son. I love the glares. They are likely jealous that they have to look all prim and proper and feel like they are 80. My son loves me to death, and I'd do anything for him. That's all that matters.

i only plan carrying short asian chicks so small back seat is fine =)

i think a FRS and kids are fine, assuming that you dont have more then 2. i assume your kids are 8-12 range, OP .

when they grow up, get them their own car.

Here is a photo I requested from Winding Road magazine when I learned they were going to test the FR-S.

And here is what they say about the rear seat room:

Reader Mattr762 asked for a photo of an adult passenger behind the driver in the Scion FR-S, as shown here. TBM is 6' tall and while this isn't his ideal driving position, it works. The back seat has enough leg and headroom for someone about 5'10". Net: it is tight, but usable in a pinch. OTOH, the XJ8 isn't threatened.

If people of their size can sit in then myself ( 5 feet 7 ) and my gf/her female friends should prove no issues since they are 5 feet 3 for the most part.

This is indeed a cool picture. So the back seat is small, but not terribly small. You can still fit two 5'10" males if required. It is just that the legs are touching the back of the front seats, not a biggy.

Imagine a lunch outing with 4 males in this car, everyone is connected to one and another..... er.. better change that to one male (driver) and three beautiful females... :happyanim:

this is the only thing that worries me about this car, im 6'2 175 and my dad is 6'3 somewhere around 300.... Although for the longest time he drove a '98 Accord V6

Personally sitting in the car in the same position as the picture me (5'11'') in the rear and my friend (6'1'') sitting in the front we were both uncomfortable. Sitting in the rear if you are tall your legs will be pressed against the rear seat and you feet will be stuck under the seat unable to move. Also the driving position will be pushed up and uncomfortable. Is it possible to fit kids back there sure. Is it possible to fit tall adults in the back? sure but at the expensive of being comfortable for the driver and passengers. 0 comfort is to be expected from passengers

If you are taller than 5'10", as both your friend and you are, you can probably fit, but uncomfortably compared with sitting position of any typical sedans. This is expected for the cars in this size. I would guess that bot your friend and you will not be able to sit in this fashion in a small car like Mini Cooper as well.

Yes i was extremely uncomfortable. In a comfortable driving position front seat is touching the rear seats so you can only imagine how it is when you have to move up.

My kid fits just fine... Okay so he has a few years but he did fit just fine in the back seat with the little lady in the front. Though my wife is only 5'5" and 125lbs.
