would this new calibration also include the transient timing "fix" that would prevent DI failure?

It should, considering the serial change. I don't see why it shouldn't since the original version of the ROM will be moved to another series.

Any word on Subaru TSB?

Finally!! Hopefully my vin is within the range so I can get the ecm reflashed. Tired of the rpm jumping up and down.

I took it in, and inform the tect regarding to this TSB and my problem
(RPM random dropped to 400 at times, causes car to shake)

They returned 2 hours after ward, telling me due to they can not replicate it, they can not perform the TSB at the moment.

Call the service manager and tell him you would like the new computer calibration anyway. In only rare cases is a new part ordered. Shows its just a software update.

I went in and asked for the latest software, they didn't give me any grief, real nice about it actually.
Thanks for original post!

I've noticed that if you use the heater without the A/C the RPM drop happens more often. This happened last night when I was sitting at idle in my driveway with the heater on front blowers. Maybe that will help with dealers denying the reflash?

The defrost setting uses the A/C pump to dry out the air. You're recreating almost identical conditions to having the A/C on full blast cold.

May be worth a shot though, I find it absurd people are being denied a reflash, 30 minutes worth of "work" tops.
