4 Mods for under $400... go!

Intro:
So I have seen something similar to this before on another forum and thought it would be fun to do here.

Sorry if this is the wrong section but as it may cover a wide range of things I thought this would be the best spot.

Rules:
  1. 4 Items for under $400 USD.
  2. Because of GEO locations, dont include shipping.
  3. Dont include labour prices, you must do it yourself.
  4. It can be anything! - Dont rag on someones choice.
  5. Dont argue on someones brand choice. - No one cares.
  6. Include links or name ebay/auctions sites as your source.
  7. Include your total.
  8. Optional: Reason why you chose your items.
  9. HAVE FUN!

So whats the point, I keep on wondering what to spend my hard earned redundany payout on. Now that wheels & tyres are ruled out till I find a new job the missus still gave me $400 to spend on parts for the car for Xmas.

If all goes well we may just be able to turn this into a DIY list for other people modding on a budget!

So whats my list.....
  1. Braided brake lines.
  2. Gearbox Support Bushing
  3. Shifter bushing.
  4. Rally Armour Mud Flaps (My 2nd hand car has none :()

Total - $310 from RallySportDirect.

Reasons:
Reason for item 1: To compliment my beatrush Master cylinder brace and give a better pedal feel.

Reason for item 2: Can definetely feel some gearbox movement during spirited driving. Peice of mind.

Reason for item 3: Shifting is sometimes notchy and feels a bit loose. I want clean crip shifts and this will compliment item 2.

Reason for item 4: Because I dont want the arse of my car to rust out. :(

FYI: I already have a Beatrush Master Cylinder Brace & Grimmspeed Strut bar installed otherwise I would of led with one of them.

Lets see what you guys come up with!

1. Toyota 86 Armrest - $200
2. Window Tinting (done locally) - $260
3. Change the radio start-up screen - Free
4. Alarm Activation - Free

I'm never real good at following directions...I didn't keep it under $400, but as close as I could come. :slap:

1. The arm rest really should have come stock on this car. To me, it has been a huge upgrade in looks and driver comfort.
2. Another comfort upgrade for me was the tint. I also enjoy the privacy and think it looks better.
3. I was just glad to get rid of the white background on start up, which I found annoying at night.
4. Seems like every dealer should be enabling the alarm by default.

Wakefield Park - A very well known track in NSW

SPEED OFF THE STREET DAYS

o Drive your own street car $120.00 per weekday and $150.00 per weekend day

o Australian Autosport Alliance licence $50.00 (annually)

o Helmet hire available for $20 per day with a $50 Deposit

So about $250 for one track day. Still a good investment and for around $400 you could probably get 2 days in.

This was jsut a quick google search.

Just found out that Marulan (an actual driver training centre does ride alongs for $200) so still not that cheap.
