Kinda goin' for that Initial D feel aren't they? You can absolutely see Toyota and Subaru's different philosophies regarding marketing in their separate videos.

Toyota is definitely reaching out to a younger audience, whereas Subaru is vying for a more knowledgeable base, considering their film on the BRZ...

interesting... in the first video they say low rpm uses a mix of port and fuel injection, mid rpm uses DI only, and high rpm uses a mix as well. the 2gr-fse however, uses a mix in low/mid rpm, and DI only at high rpm...

That should explain the high torque around 2800 rpms and after 5000 rpms eh?

Exactly what I was thinking. Welp, guess this answers the question I had last night, right? LOLZ

I think the different company sizes and cultures play a role in this.

Definitely different than what Subaru put out, but still good!

Its funny to me that there is all this bickering by us fanbois, started by the companies themselves, about who did what, when, and where.... BUT so far this looks to be one of those rare odd automotive marriages that has worked out brilliantly.

Usually these type things turn into massive trainwrecks... Chrysler TC by Maserati is the main one that comes to mind.

I'm not convinced that Subaru is vying for a more knowledgeable base as any knowledgeable car enthusiast will see that the 2 cars are essentially the same.
