Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX,

Thank you for your interest in the SCIBORG TSL86plus Auto Door Lock System.

Yes, for manual transmission 86 and BRZ vehicles, you will need model TSL86plus. (Model TSL86 will not function properly.)

You said your car is a "unique model." So long as your SUBARU BRZ is Model No. DBA-ZC6, it should be fully compatible with our TSL86plus. But please confirm your vehicle's model number prior to purchase. If your BRZ's model number is different, it is possible that your body computer is also different, and in that case our product may not function properly. Please note that we have only verified BRZ cars and 86 cars manufactured in Japan.

Please also note that on Manual Transmission vehicles, the TSL86plus will UNLOCK the doors only when you apply the Parking Brake. (In comparison, Automatic Transmission cars will UNLOCK when the gear is returned to the "P" position.)

OPTIONAL PARTS
If you don't mind having the TSL86's OBD plug in your car's factory OBD connector all the time, then the TSL86plus is all you need. However, if you want to keep your car's OBD plug free so you can connect other OBD devices to your car, we recommend the optional OB-23 harness. You can see a photo of the OB-23 and review our English manual PDF here:
http://visionsecurity.jp/en/parts/parts.html

A lower cost alternative to the OB-23 is our NT-4 "Posi-Tap" connector 4-pack, for ¥800. In this case, you would cut off the OBD connector from the TSL86plus and connect the 4 wires yourself. Using the 4 Posi-Tap connectors, you would connect each of the 4 wires of the TSL86plus to the car's wires located directly behind the car's OBD connector. You must be more careful to connect to the correct wires when using the NT-4, but the NT-4 costs much less than our OB-23 harness.

If you don't care about using factory OBD connector, then you don't need the OB-23 or the NT-4.

INSTALLATION INFO
I apologize that we only have a Japanese web page right now regarding the TSL86 & TSL86plus. But you can view details about our TSL86plus in our ENGLISH manual here:
http://kiramek.com/english/TSL86plus_Manual_EN.pdf

PRICING
We can offer you a 40% discount from the "pre-tax" retail price shown on our website. That means the TSL86plus is discounted to ¥9000, and the OB-23 harness is discounted to ¥4200. The NT-4 Posi-Tap Connector pack is ¥800. (Prices are in Japanese Yen.) Once again, you do not need the OB-23 or NT-4 to use the TSL86plus.

EMS Shipping for only the TSL86plus (390g package) or the TSL86plus + OB-23 (480g package) costs the same — ¥1800. The reason is because both packages are heavier than 300g and lighter than 500g — the break points for EMS pricing. We do not take profit on shipping fees. You can confirm the prices at Japan Post here:
http://www.post.japanpost.jp/english/fee/intel/ems.html

PLEASE NOTE: We have shipped to Italy using EMS in the past. For reasons we do not understand, the local postal system in Italy takes longer to deliver, compared with other countries. EMS packages sent from Japan usually arrive in 3-5 days in the USA, or 5-7 days in various European countries. But Italy sometimes takes 10-14 days to be delivered. This is very strange in our opinion, considering that EMS is "express mail." But we want our Italian customers to be aware of the situation before processing an order. (There are faster shipping methods than EMS, but the cost is 3 times higher than EMS.)

As mentioned on our English website, to offset our cost in preparing orders and hand-delivering international packages to the post office, a 5% Handling Fee on the total invoice amount applies:
http://www.kiramek.com/english/sales.html#Payment

Therefore, we can offer you the following three price quotations:
  • TSL86plus + EMS + Handling = (9000 + 1800) x 1.05 = ¥11340
  • TSL86plus + NT-4 + EMS + Handling =(9000 + 800 + 1800) x 1.05 = ¥12180
  • TSL86plus + OB-23 + EMS + Handling = (9000 + 4200 + 1800) x 1.05 = ¥15750

PAYPAL PAYMENT
Please email us what you wish to order, and please include your mailing address and contact telephone number. We will then send you a Paypal invoice. The invoice will be priced in Japanese Yen, but Paypal will allow you to convert your local currency to Yen. (Please note that on our Paypal invoice, the 5% Handling Fee will be combined with the EMS Shipping fee.)

Paypal Policy. In the recent past, we've had the unfortunate experience of fraudulent orders from outside Japan. We have therefore made it a policy to first move funds from our Paypal account to our bank account before we ship. Paypal is sadly not very speedy at moving funds, and they claim it can take 5 business days. But in our experience it usually takes about 4 business days (weekdays). With tomorrow being Friday, if we are able to send you the Paypal invoice tomorrow and you are able to pay it tomorrow, I am confident we will have confirmed the payment in our bank account by next week Wednesday (Dec. 11th), which means we could probably ship to you that same day (Dec. 11th).

I look forward to your reply.

Thank you,

Yeah, that OB-23 is awesome! I have my p3car vent gauge, auto door lock and now OFT can connect to it whenever I need it to.

Does this mean that the rapid slow-down auto-unlock doesn't work on manual transmissions? Or just the normal parking stop?

Also saw that the instructions say "NOTE#1: This product will not automatically Unlock in the event of a car accident.". Does this mean that it can only be triggered by rapid braking, but not rapid slow-down to an accident? Or is this just legal-speak to say that you don't guarantee it auto-opening in an accident?

high deceleration provide unlock as write on english manual, too.

TSL86PLUS from Kiramek is only for Japan Market, you must import from them.
I confirm full compliant for BRZ High Grade (Italy) 6MT as for the BRZ japanese model.

here all that you need. I suggest, if you buy, to consider Splitter - ODB23, so it's very easy to install.

I don't like how it unlocks the doors when you pull the handbrake up in manual transmission cars. I wish they made the doors unlock when you turn off the ignition instead. I wouldn't want the doors to keep unlocking whenever I use the handbrake while stuck in a traffic jam, or when using it to initiate drifts.

If you wish drifting or other , you can remove adapter in EODB harness within 3 seconds. After that you can fit it again without re-programming.

HRTROB 01-06-2014 11:54 AM

I wonder if setting the DIP switches to type A - automatic transmission, will still lock the doors in a manual car and prevent the doors to unlock with the handbrake? I don't care much for auto unlock.

each settings work properly in accordance to the type of vehicle...so if you get AT the switch won't operate on MT.

I'm sure that J. Wages of Kiramek could be very interested in GBuy for USA. Maybe someone could start the group. Contact him on email posted some posts above.
He helps me to find in Germany the supplier for auto-rollup/down window on closure thus this kind of module in Japan isn't popular item.
