Tarmac Zero at Road Atlanta

I was just at Road Atlanta this past weekend. I have the Tarmac Zero with 350lb Swift springs.

The only other suspension mod is the Perrin rear sway set at medium stiffness. I only lowered the car a 1/2" from stock. I am also running 235 17 NT01s.

Glad I listened to the guys at Racecomp and got the stiffer springs. The car was amazing. It was very neutral and absorbed the track nuances in a very composed manner. I was fairly confident (as the track is still new to me) but I think the car had a lot more left in it. The esses downhill and uphill were the best part and I was able to hang with the big boys.
I also drove 680 miles each way to the track and it was quite comfortable. Now I just need to get the clunking out of the front coilovers :)

A big thanks to Myles from Racecomp and Jack43 who answered all my questions, and to Yo from FT-86 SpeedFactory for the great service.

Appreciate it. Enjoy the coils! :) Jealous of your time at Road Atlanta.

Didn't know you got those! Nice!

How do they compare with the pro kit springs you had on it before?

Thanks. The springs are great for daily driving and not bad on the track. The Tarmacs are not bad for daily driving and amazing on the track. Just put it on. Are you going to be at Sebring in 2 weeks?

Good to hear. Not sure if I'll be there or not, if I do, i'll be coming down for like a half day.

I know Ramon (fldoc) will be there with his FRS. Dave, you going as well?

147whp FTW lol

The car handles well. First time on RA so it definitely was a bit of a learning experience.

What kind of lap times were you two running there?

msile 12-04-2013 02:52 PM

New car, new setup on the track, I started off on Sat in the 2:10 range. bought that down to the 1:50 range. By Sunday I was in the high 1:40s. My best laps were 1:46, 1:47, 1:47, 1:48. I think the car had more in it.

Wasn't running a laptimer. Around the 50 mark with tons left on the table based on a few laps I just checked on video. The Integra lost speed between 1 and 2 due to no torque, or had to bounce at the limiter. Worse gearing ever for RA lol I need to get the other trans with shorter ratios (ITR trans) rebuilt and in the car. That alone should shave a few seconds off.

Since I was new there I ran with an Instructor who said it felt like mid 40s on the first day. I was slower on day 2 (tire change and brake pad change to a less balanced setup changed my braking points considerably). We never ran video on day one though :(
