Correct. The more you have to lose the more you appreciate having insurance. A guy on a bicycle caused me to take my last motorcycle ride a little over 4 years ago and it cost his insurance company over 500K. If he hadn't had insurance he's be living on the streets now.

That sucks, but thankfully the other driver had high liability limits that seem to have taken care of a lot of expenses and damages that you incurred.

At least you can still drive stick!

Correct. And I can joke that I'm still as good looking as ever because I was wearing a Nolan full face helmet.

Holy crap!.Reading through these posts I cannot believe how many people are getting raped by the insurance companies.

Im 38,no tickets or accidents in the last 7 years and my credit is very good.I got Progressive Specialty insurance 100/300/100 and 500 deductible.I pay $530 for the year and my fiance is on the policy too.

Some of these people are paying more for insurance than I do on property tax.WTF?

You're in Ohio, and their rates for insurance are rather low compared to most other states. Same thing with Virginia and a few others.

yes! this is true! if you have a "lien" on the vehicle, you are required to have "full" coverage in n.h. too!

being held hostage by an insurance carrier is a common event for most.
it's considered to be a necessary evil.you can liken it to being "sore" for a long time in the "anal" cavity.

No joke man! I am 30, I have had no problems in 11 years and I pay $88 a month. My company is state farm and I have my home insurance through them as well so I get a discount. I also have 0 deductible.

UMBI - 15/30

Secondary - 2013 FRS ~5000 miles/yr

Quote 2: $349 (6 months)

I asked about going with 25/50/25 and 100/300/100 for Quote 2 above a got the following (all with $500 deductible):

25/50/25 - $365 (6 months)
100/300/100 - $402 (6 months)

Adds up to $100+ increase a year over the 15/30/10 for the 100/300/100. I might just do it or just go for the 25/50/25.

DeeezNuuuts83 01-05-2013 06:57 PM

Yeah, anything above 15/30/10 is a step in the right direction. It's useful -- a driver hit my girlfriend's parked car (along with three or four other vehicles on our block) a week before Christmas. He also only had 15/30/10, and that $10,000 property damage limit is hardly going to cover the damage for all four or five vehicles, though my girlfriend's policy is going to take care of the car and just go after the driver in court and likely garnish his wages if he can't pay.
