how to get rid of a tune
long story short, I built my self a turbo kit last year and got it tune by Visconti, thing worked great, pulled hard it was perfect! then I decided to sell the car and turbo kit apart, now the car is sold and so is the turbo, car is leaving tomorrow but I cant figure out how to put the stock tune back in.. I actually don't even have a stock file!
a friend of mine does but it doesn't work, I believe because he took it out with a different dongle then mine... help!!!!!!!!!! thanks |

Trying contacting Visconti. I believe he is the only one who can provide you with a working stock rom because you have ECUtek.
|
will try.. wondering if the techstream from the dealer could retune
|
To my understanding, techstream will not be able to because there is encryption locked into the ROM that made it onto your car.

problem solved, called a friend that used the same dongle as me and he still had a stock file.. I had the same exact file but for some reason mine saved as a *.romdump and his as a *.bin which was what bi needed.. im pretty sure I could of just swithed the extendion name of my file and it would of worked but I did not take the chance!
the car can finally leave my home, kinda sad but you never know what future will bring... maybe an frs but with a stock more powerfull engine, im done with big engine mods, there is always something and after have this car will all the great power it made, back to stock would of just been too boring |
rom dumps arent the same as the stock file. those are used to forward to ecutek to get you rom added to their database incase its a new undocumented version. And for all those wondering. the stock roms and not specific to your Software dongle.
