Alcantara upgrades

4 Attachment(s)
Finally got it all installed. not planning to change any more but am very happy with the results.

All of it is in the right place making for a much more comfortable drive.

Only small complaint, when I grab the e-brake for some fun, the backing/holder pops out. Like the new cover is a little short/tight. no a big deal as I don't powerslide/ebrake on the way to work, not every time anyway.

upgrades, all JPM;

- steering
- upper door Sill
- door armrest
- door speaker trim / Knee pad
- center console knee pad
- center console, complete
- ebrake boot
- shift boot
- console armrest (EU) covered by JPM.
- rear seat center armrest

Need that armrest...

jjkerr626 12-02-2013 12:04 AM

Beautiful...that must have cost a couple grand but it's amazing. I have three pieces from them and I want more!

That center console looks amazing! Good work!

Looks very nice. How is it to clean? How difficult to keep it free of any dust or other dirth that happens it the car?

I got the EU version OEM armrest from "jpit" he shipped the kit direct to JPM.

Cost;
$180 OEM arm rest shipped from UK
346 new, spare center console wrapped by JPM
210 armrest wrapped and installed by JPM
50 shipping to my FF.

$786 total....for an Alcantara covered console and armrest. Crazy? maybe, but it's really comfy and I work hard for my $. :)

fyi new rear seat armrest was $81 all in.

do you think it'll help with rattles down the line with some "cushion", now?

I have four young kids that jump in and out with dirty shoes and don't notice too much trouble but I also have a guy that rubs and vacuums all the cars. (spoiled I know)

I found the Alcantara is thin but really dense so much easier to wipe / remove dust/ clean than the OEM polyester seat and carpet fabric.

try it on something small, if you want to start wasting money like I did.

OP, that looks amazing! Did you get them to put Alcantara on your office chair too? ;)

This is so true. I started out just wanting the knee pads and now have the gauge cluster hood, shift boot and E brake boot as well. It is most definitely a slippery slope...

@Alabang 86 I am really glad to finally see your interior back together! It looks phenomenal. Would you please elaborate on this for me? "Only small complaint, when I grab the e-brake for some fun, the backing/holder pops out. Like the new cover is a little short/tight. no a big deal as I don't powerslide/ebrake on the way to work, not every time anyway." Is the assembly coming loose from the center console or is the top ring of the brake boot coming loose from the handle? I would like to make sure that you are as happy with your interior as possible. Thank you!
