FRS Foglight Switch?

So I just got my hands on a Nigel-JDM foglight kit, without the stalk. I'm generally "alright" at wiring, but confused about one part. I understand the harness and all that, but the switch. I'm not sure how to go about hooking that part up, and also, do we know if I can buy a replacement dash piece with an extra hole for the fog light button?

This is the piece I'm looking for.

And here is what I'm confused about.

Do the two parts I have a line drawn between connect? And also, what's this red open-wire for?

Here's everything I have.

When you open the panel piece on the driver side, there is a white connector that is taped up and not connected to anything. That is where you connect your switch, but that button has 4 pins so I don't know which one goes where, you would have to test that yourself.

636,

if you could possible post pictures of how you wired everything up, it would be greatly appreciated. im kinda stuck at the moment.

Yes those two ends do connect. Its nice cause its kinda like an extension but bad since its sorta cluttered. Anyway you need to find a power source for that red wire, in my case i used the ignition(green wire). Heres a link of where to tap that red wire to: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=27366&page=27

And you should be set :]

Do you have a better link? Or any pictures of how to? I'm still lost. >.<

Take off the plastic panel to the left of your dash/steering wheel (the panel faces your door). Then you need to tap the red wire from the switch to the green wire on the harness.

in that picture, they used an alligator clamp to splice the red and green wire together (in order to feed power to the switch).

the ground wire from the switch (black with the metal circle at the end) needs to make contact with a screw from this area.

as you can see here.

If you take the panel off, all of this will look familiar to you.

I see, but as far as the other harness goes. I still wire it up to connect to the headlights? As if I was installing the foglights to turn on whenever my headlights turn on, correct?

I didn't wire mine that way. I just wired mine straight from the fogs to the battery terminal. My fogs are turned on via the switch. The switch only gets power when the ignition is on, because the switch is tapped into the green power wire from the ignition, this way it wont stay on when you turn the car off (to avoid draining the battery). My foglights are separate from my headlights, they do not tap into one another.

Thanks for your help!! Just one more questions to clarify everything, just to make sure I've got this right, if you don't mind.
