Overpipe and front pipe combo dilemma
Hi guys I just wanted get some recommendations and suggestions...
So far I am planning to stay NA for a year or so, then upgrade to a supercharger. I am having trouble decide what overpipe and front pipe combination I should go with.. I am pairing them with a OFT header (2.5" collector) and a Greddy EVO3 catback (2.75") I was thinking of getting the... •] Ultimate Racing overpipe and frontpipe combo (2.75") •] Private Label MFG Overpipe (2.5") with a J2 Engineering testpipe (2.75") or even.. •] DC Sport Overpipe (2.5") with a J2 Engineering testpipe (2.75") Price is also a factor in my decision making as well as reliability. So I want to try to end up with something that is decent without breaking the bank. Let me know what you guys think and/or would recommend something else entirely. Thanks in advance! |
Nameless would be your best bet
Just give you an idea http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30428 |
Are you worried about rasp or drone? If so, try and get a resonated/catted front pipe. It's going to be really loud with that header. Someone with the same J2 exhaust is trying to get rid of the rasp in their setup currently with a Borla UEL.
I'd try a Nameless downpipe with a helmholtz, catted. |
Thanks you guys for the input. So Nameless front pipes are a sure bet huh? especially with the resonator...
What about the overpipe? |

Best bang for the buck combo since they combine both pieces and has very few bends.

Thanks for the tips you guys! Yes I think I may bite the bullet and go ahead and place an order for the Nameless combo WITH Helmhotz resonator.
Seems like a really good and trusted brand from what I am reading. Hopefully it helps with any kind of drone I may get from the Greddy EVO3. |
They have a %15 discount code right now...pays for shipping plus a little.

One brand is well known and is 2.5" The other is not so well known and is 2.75" |
I use the motive overpipe and Invidia catted FP combo. There is literally no rasp with is.

If you are installing yourself, you will need to raise the engine to install the Nameless op/fp combo. If you decide to get separate pieces for the op and fp, you will not have to raise the engine. This should also be considered.

i'm running the nameless over/front pipe combo + resonated perrin catback. love it! looking at headers within the next few months.
