They didn't have only alcantara, so it's dealbreaker? I don't get this logic. Did you call JPM? They actually do custom fabrication for your needs.

Another vendor might make em? High quality stuff as JPM? Good luck forking over 2~3 times more.

This.

Honestly I think the jet black logo is best. It's subtle and not-glaring but if someone asks who made it, it's right there. And, it looks nice.

I don't mind some aftermarket branding of the parts. I mean, who gripes about MOMO having their brand on the center cap of their steering wheels? Who gripes about Flossy or Raceng or Perrin having their logos stamped on their shift knobs? Who gripes about Recaro or Bride embroidering their logo onto their seats, or Schroth their logo on their harnesses, AEM on their gauges, etc.

And yet some few folks want to jump down JPM's throat about them doing the same thing for their products?

If it bothers those folks so much, then stick with factory JDM or leave it stock. Period.

JPM's embroidering is sure as hell classier than plastering the +5hp stickers all over the rear bumper.

I don't mind it what Alex and his team have done. They have quality fit and finish and pride in each piece. But that's my .02.

why threads like this exist is beyond me. this is not professional and the OP looks like a whining teenager.

you have a problem with the product? get in contact with alex or andrew. they are always happy to take your phone calls, emails, etc.

making a public thread, does nothing. Don't like their product, don't buy it. don't want their logo, then go elsewhere to buy it. no one is telling you to go pay for a product. how come no one bitches when you buy appliances or cars with badging everywhere. this is their brand, and you pay to have their product. end of story.

I don't want to spend $65 for something that should be included by default. I can perfectly understand giving discounts to show cars, sponsoring cars, whatever. For just selling to the general public, why are you charging money to not have an obnoxious logo? It rubs me the wrong way.

I like OEM+. I don't want a bunch of third party logos plastered over the interior of my car. I don't want something that looks like I just glued Alcantara over every single bit of the interior. I wanted something that looks like it could have been factory on a BRZ model even more upscale than the Limited.

I e-mailed back and forth with two JPM people, they told me that even though the description listed sim leather and alcantara options, they were only offering the center console ones in sim leather, the door speaker ones were alcantara only. They were friendly about it, but they pretty much told me to buy the alcantara ones or look elsewhere.

Yeah, Subaru/Toyota do, and the JDM kneepads from Amayama are a little cheaper, and the only logos stamped on them are on the backs. Good quality, available in leather (not just alcantara) which is a perfect match for the rest of the interior. The black plastic dash pieces aren't as nice as the JPM ones, but they're a whole lot cheaper.

I don't know why everyone is jumping down my throat. OP expressed a complaint with the JPM pricing structure, and I agreed with him. I've thoroughly explained the reasoning behind why I agree with him, and so far I haven't seen an argument in favor of their current pricing model besides "You put stickers for vendors on your car anyway, who cares?" or "Well, you can get it in black so it's less noticeable". They've got two products. One of them costs slightly less than the other to produce because it's missing a logo. Why does that one cost $65 more? It doesn't cost them $65 more to make. They've essentially said "We're going to put on something we know you don't want, and charge you an arm and a leg to get rid of it". Sorry, that's not for me. If I give them $136 and swear on a bible that the moment I get it in the mail, I'll painstakingly spend hours picking the threads out to remove the logo, will they give me one without a logo? I've never seen a company charge you more for an unbranded version of their product, and certainly not 50% more. It's seriously uncool in my book, and judging from many other responses to this thread, I'm far from the only one who feels that way.

what part of, it costs X and they will give you a discount of 65$ for running the logo do you not comprehend.

jpm, just make it one price, with or without logo so that people who are not so strong of mind can understand.

I agree. Just take the option away and charge everyone the extra $65.

K, I see your point, there are a lot of things I wanna point out, but my stupid PC freaked out 3 times & deleted 3 times (fml), so I'll keep it short & simple. You're mistaken this part.

They can sell it like other after interior market company & logo only products. Do you see people complaining that their Bride/Sparco/Recaro seats have their company logo on it?

The JDM parts are not leather (it's vinyl). It's closer to rubber than cow hide. I'm also fairly certain JPM explained to you why they won't use leather on certain pieces. They stand behind their product and need it to last a long time. Certain pieces will cause the leather to pull back and separate after enough heat cycles. JPM simply refuses to produce and sell subpar products.

I think some people just like to bitch about things...

Stierzy34 12-04-2013 07:22 PM

Maybe I am in the minority here but I treat that logo like a designer logo. I rock it, and when someone asks where I got it, I point and say, "those bad mothers." :D

If I had any gripe, it'd be a lack of embroidery thread color options. The brz screams for more blue instead of all this red.
I plan on getting all my back lighting redone in blue & I have blue interior leds on the way.

I don't get this. The car has no blue in it to begin with. How does it scream for more blue?

If that's what you want though, I'm sure you could call them and ask them if they will do it for you. Wouldn't be the first time they've gotten a custom request.

SirBrass 12-04-2013 10:09 PM

Because it does. It wouldn't if they'd not made everything backlit in red without white at all.
