Has anyone attempted fitting an aeromotive 340 pump in their car? A lot of us are running the dw65c pump which measures at 113mm length from pickup to end of the nipple. The Aeromotive 340 appears to be 120mm excluding the pickup on the bottom. However I don't have any measurements of a sock installed on either pumps.

The Aeromotive has what looks like 21mm from its plastic head to to the tip of the nipple vs "roughly" 19mm on the DW65c (which seems confusing). Considering my dw65c had a straight nipple with no flare it would seem like ti would be appropriate to shave 2mm off of the Aeromotive pump making it 118mm. I didn't think to check what was physically restricting me from a larger pump fitting in my canister when I installed it. I know it was a fairly tight fit with my DW65c but I don't know if that was from the nipple, or the actual plastic head on the unit. Does anyone by chance have either of these pumps uninstalled that could measure including sock, excluding sock, nipple height, etc? I would love to know what is limiting us from getting a pump that is possibly upwards of 10mm taller into the stock canister. This pump flows a decent amount more. There is also the walbro F90000262 which flows ~430LPH at 40PSI compared to the Aeromotive 340 @ 40psi (both pumps at 13.5v) at the same height including nipple, and the F90000267 which is a few mm taller due to longer nipple length that appears it would be easy to simply cut off to fit.

Overall it seems like it might take a fair bit of shaving of the inside of the canister. But if it is realistic to only need to shave a tiny bit off of the pump & canister to fit it this might be a worth while investment for those of us looking at 400WHP without needing twin pumps, external surge system, BAP, or removing the small surge system in the OEM fuel canister. I would like to ideally get a pump to drop in with small modification and use the OEM pump duty cycle that the factory ECU uses if possible.

If anyone has attempted and succeeded / failed please chime in! Or if you simply have a canister removed from the car for measurements, or any of these pumps for measurements.

Edit: I guess i should add another question. Does anyone know how many amps we can draw before maxing out the OEM wiring for a pump? I didn't even think to check the wiring. If an external power is required using duty cycle may no longer work that easily. I am going to just guess that the DW65C is nearing the max amperage of the OEM fuel pump wiring.

I had never seen this thread but I looked into it back in January. My conclusion was that it would simply not work because the outlet for that pump was for a hose/clamp instead of sealing with the top of our canister with O rings.

Didn't even think about modifying it.

I guess I will see how is it possible when I see FBM 485 Walbro.
