Southbay Date Night Drive

Hey everyone, what are some good spots to drive with a date? Ideally somewhere with some good views and places to stop. I was thinking Skyline is pretty good. Mt. Hamilton is a little too narrow, but its a possibility. Any other good roads? Looking for Safety/View/Passenger Enjoyability lol :thanks:

Hwy 1 near the ocean is one of the best views. Many restaurants in Half Moon Bay and Pacifica have a waterfront view, well at night you can't see it but you can walk around for a few minutes outside.

I would say Mt Hamilton. If it allows reach Jame's lick it will be cold up there. But the view is beautiful. Or what he said near the beaches are nice drives and views. I'm not sure how close you're living. 2153 Casselino Dr
San Jose, CA 95136 is a place filled of apartments. There's a view that overlook the some parts of San Jose and it does look nice at night. There's a walk and park there. If you're into hiking try getting up above Mission Peak :D

Cool thanks for the ideas, I'm in North San Jose so I think HW1 is too far away. Looks like Mt. Hamilton is the winner, never done it at night but its not like I'm racing anyone.

Imagine that it was night time and the hill you're standing you can oversea the lights down below you may or may not see the stars above. I couldn't think of the name when I was typing at that time. Communication Tower place.

Just follow Caleveras eastbound up into the hills, it will circle back to an awesome vista and then drop you off right on Capitol Ave between Hostetter and Berryessa. Did a drive with a FOB a few weeks ago, she broke out the iPhone and was taking pics the whole time. Don't do it too fast though, it drops to 1 lane on the return, and there are wild turkeys on the road before that.

Redwood to pinehurst to grizzly peak blvd. awesome scenery of the city. Then go enjoy some food in Berkeley afterwards or you can cross the bridge and enjoy some food in sf :)

Yes, this one is pretty nice - it's called Felter Rd and Sierra Rd.

^This, make sure to stop on one of the few turn outs for a nice view of the bay.

Another alternative, if you are in the north bay, is a drive to the peak of Mt. Tamalpais. The view at the top is amazing, I believe a few of the folks here joined me for that drive a while back.

hamilton and calaveras are nice but somewhat too narrow... i know ppl get carsick from turns (my roommate got really sick on the way to santa cruz on 17 - and that wasn't that curvy)

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I went up Mt. Hamilton to Lick Observatory. The stars were AMAZING. Even saw some shooting stars! Highly recommended!

It is said that if are in control, you won't get motion sickness. Reminds me of the time I had a drunk friend in my WRX. It didn't end very well. :barf:
