Whirring/Whizzing/Whining from Interior Fan/Blower

Noticed this today after about an hour of it being on at a medium flow. It seemed to be coming from the center of the passenger foot well where the blower assembly is. It went away when the fan was off and came back when i turned it on. Have had the car for about 8 months and am at 28k. Has anyone else had any issue similar to this? If it comes back tomorrow I plan on taking it to the dealer, kind of need a heater around this time of year in Canada.

Thanks,

I have started to hear a faint buzz coming from the passenger area as well. I turned up the music and got rid of it. I am at almost 11k miles, 11th month owning it

8 months and 28K??? Damn you drive a ton. I've had mine for 1.5 years and just hit 13K. lol Anyway, I have had the whirring since day one. Easily noticeable when the fan is on low. Anything above the first click and the wind noise from the fan covers up the fan noise. I got on here not long after I had the car and asked the same question. The answer I got was, thats just the way suburus are. I love my car and will never get rid of it, but suburus are junk. My wives Kia optima, which cost the same amount of money, has no unusual noises. The windows roll up and down automatically as you would expect. No rattling even at much higher volumes than I listen to in my car. But, I take it all in stride. Its a lightweight sports car and I know there are bound to be much more NVH than a comfort car.

For heavens sake, pop the cover off and give the poor electric motor a shot of light oil ....;)

Easy for me to say ...... huh!

Mine makes a noise as well. Replacing it fixed the issue?
