Sat Nav

I went into a Scion dealer today, and they didn't know the cost or if even Sat Nav is going to be included on the FR-S. I think the pioneer deck is ugly and looks so dated. The BRZ comes standard with Nav, and I think that alone might justify moving over my pre-order. Does anyone have Sat Nav information for Scion? Cost, make, etc would help.

Thanks guys!

If it's like other Scion Models, there's an upscale pioneer unit (ADCP-w12 or something) with a touch screen as an option for $500. Still doesn't have nav, just cleaner sound with more inputs/outputs, features and adjustability.

maybe someone else knows more..but there's also the "Bespoke" system that is supposed to be premiering on US FR-S models ($800 us?). I don't believe that unit has navigation internally either..but it can run a navigation app (among others) ,by piggy-backing off your phone . I don't know Bespoke's Canadian status though.

BTW, the Bespoke Pioneer unit looks to be a VERY similar unit in appearance to the optional Pioneer deck we have. It does have a different model number though and says "Bespoke" in big letters on the bottom of the face

The Canadian BRZ's Dedicated GPS unit is also an off the shelf Pioneer. Model AVIC-X9310BT. This deck has a "retail" of $899 i think

I was talking to the Scion dealer and he said Scion actually had a model Nav but got pulled cause for some reason they forgot to include french language on it. So now it seems dealers don't know if the Scion version will even have Sat Nav.

my plan: buy 1 yr old nav for 400$
install myself OR pay 100 bucks for install lol.

Hmm, they must've been high when they ordered it. Eh, Towelie?

Another thread about Bespoke / Sat Nav?? ARGH!!!

I have 3 points to make here:
1. How much time are you going to be spending looking at the stupid radio when you should really be driving? Is the look of said radio really that important?

2. If you really need Sat Nav, why are you not looking at a BRZ?

3. How much time / how often do you really plan on using the navigation in the first place? Plus my bet is you have an iPhone with GPS anyway. I hardly do any blind (not blindfolded!) driving myself anymore.

Again, if you really want to be entertained by a car and its stereo, I don't think this is the car for you. It's a drivers car! You're supposed to be too busy driving to stare at the radio.

That being said, for 26K, they should have something nicer looking. But in the end, I couldn't care less about what the head unit looks like as long as it works.
