hm.. looks like we'll have to find a 'closed course' to do n/a stock vs. turbo comparisons. ;)

Holy shit, looks great. Can't wait to get a look in person tomorrow.

Temperature Logging:
Well my stupid BlueTooth ELM327 OBDII reader keeps on freezing up/dis-connecting but while I can log it, looks like IAT's are around 60 ~ 70 with a couple hard pulls here and there, Oil Temps about 175 ish. This is driving like a real person, and not pulling every street light.

As for highway driving, I've been avoiding it since I need to re-adjust the undercover so the headers don't touch and the wastegate dump tube hole needs to be fabbed. When I go over 65mph, there is a "fluttering" noise, probably due to wind coming in through underneath the car, and vibrating something. It freaks me out so I stay away from free ways right now.

I hear a "pop" sometimes, especially when I steer to the left, so not sure if I am just mistaken for the backfire, or something moving around the car. This will be checked up tomorrow.

The car pulls so much harder at any power band really, and turbo lag is not very noticeable depending on how you drive. And when boost kicks in, the car gets significantly louder so I may need to switch up the exhaust to something quieter.

Come to cars n coffee in Tigard on Saturday and I will show you another option to log ecu values. I'll bring my win8 tablet and my op2.0 adapter.

Dude you have an external wastegate lol

Touge_ninja 01-02-2014 11:59 PM

its not the car that got louder, your just getting older.......jkjk

BRZPDX 01-03-2014 03:23 AM

I hear the waste gate, but my exhaust is screaming now since its full catless.

Update?

fukamoto 01-05-2014 08:25 PM

Is there a link which provides the specs for the PRE turbo kit?

BRZPDX 01-06-2014 01:40 PM

@fukamoto I would call PRE and ask them about the spec. You can choose different options as well. Its in stages right now, stage 1 is my kit, stage 2 is with meth, stage 3 is not finished yet but it will be water/air intercooler set up.
@evan not much to update, but running great so far, will be putting back the undertray on Tuesday to address the fluttering noise at +70mph.

No weird jerkyness, temps look good (thank god for the cold weather). Only thing is I hear a "click" every once in a while when I turn to the left, at very low speeds.

Getting used to the power now.. not a good thing lol

PRE took care of the undertray issue, and had no problem making a hole for the WG dump tube. Now my car does not flutter at high speeds, and feel secure with the undertray on!

This Sunday 1/12/14, I am planning on setting up my GoPro to take some footage, drive by and inside the cabin.

It will be from 10AM ~ 3PM ish if anyone is free and wanna hang out, film some stuff, go on a cruise/grab lunch if ya want? Also a great opportunity to ride my car to see how it feels.

evan 01-07-2014 10:30 PM

I'd come out on Sunday with the car, but it's getting dropped off at PRE for some grades man.. UPgrades. I'll still come out with the Jeep. The competition in PDX is getting hotter.. :D

BRZPDX 01-07-2014 11:02 PM

@evan what are you getting!?

Touge_ninja 01-08-2014 12:28 AM

I'm so curious on your setup. This might warrant a short day trip
