OpenFlash Tablet mounting ideas

Now that datalogging and realtime infographics are live, it would be a nice to be able to mount the OFT where we can see it. Having it tucked slanted in the dash pod, holding it in my hand while shifting or just on my lap isn't cutting it anymore.

I have some ideas of mounting it in front of the analog speed guage and that about as far as the supplied cable will go. Just wonder what others have done so far so I don't have to reinvent the wheel :bonk:

This is a phone holder that hooks on to your rearview mirror and when opened all the way.. It barely the oft. And the best part about it is you can take it off when your not using it.

Are you guys using a OBD2 Extension Cable with your OFT ? I find the cable that comes with is too damn short to do anything with for mounting options.

Subscribed for ideas. I've got to get mine mounted.

I'm already looking at extender OBDII cables. Preferably with a 90 for the plug in to the car. Straight out puts the cable right in the way of my right leg.

you could try one of those as-seen-on-tv sticky cell phone holder things. it has an adhesive bit that goes on the back on the device and it just sticks onto the mount, so it should work.

Yeah I saw some nice left angle and right angle extenders on ebay that would do the job nicely

The Beatsonic mount and tablet or mobile holder (either one) posted in another thread should do the trick.

What model is that head unit? Seems be the same form factor as the factory Panasonic.

Any update on this?

I use this Ram Mount X Grip suction cup phone holder with my iPhone, works really well for that. I tried it with the OFT, and it just barely fits as well. Would really want one of those OBDII extenders though to make it reach a little more, otherwise the mounting spots on the windshield are a little limited and kind of in your way.

Sorry I don't have pics of the OFT in the holder, if anyone wants to see it I will try to snap some later.
