Can I use cruise control just after 1k miles?

Hi guys,

Last month I finished the break in period of 1600km (1k miles) and have been using the cruise control on highways and freeways,

This is okay right? I am worried I might have a oil burning engine.

I gave plenty of load during break in and at 2200km or 1367miles my oil level is at full.

Thanks

Sometimes reading forums like this causes more paranoia than it does help. You're completely fine.

I'm afraid your DI seals are going to suffer as a result of this. There is a direct and conclusive relationship between the health of your DI seals and the use of cruise control after 1k miles. Your only option is to sell the car and hope that the new owner doesn't notice.. :(

What...? I've been using cruise control a couple of times under break in

Well I'll be damned. He got me. I didn't use it this morning for my DI seal's sake.

It's not like you HAVE to not stay at one rpm range while breaking in but it is recommended, hell some people don't even believe in something called a break in period, it's up to you, I personally think it's just fine to use after the break in since you did follow the instructions of not staying on one rpm range.

I redline my car at 500 miles and it runs just fine. No need to believe in the trolls.
