Blind Spot Detection?

So after cruising around in the MS3, I couldn't help but noticing how useful the blind spot detection was when changing lanes. This lead me to wondering if something like this is possible to put on a FRS/BRZ...Has anyone here bought like a aftermarket detection system or swapped their mirrors for some mirrors that already have the sensors integrated? Or is that even possible?

Adjust your side mirrors to cover the blind spits, and use
your inside rear view mirror to see what's behind you. That's the way I've always setup my mirrors.

If you do this and drive around for a couple days or so you'll start to wonder how you ever drove without having your mirrors adjusted like this!

I agree with those 2 ^^^ If you have your mirrors properly adjusted you don't need blind spot detection.

these are options Im looking to for the outside mirror. To me the field of vision for the outside is very limited. Think any of these options are worth the $80-100. Just my .02

My blind spot issue was addressed with a Broadway clip on mirror. It allows me to see the blind spot behind the passenger seat / passenger's head! Good luck!

This

your side mirrors shouldn't be looking down the side of your car, they should be looking at the next lane

Surprises me that most of everybody sets there mirrors wrong and always complain about the blindspot

Adjusting your mirrors properly is fantastic. I don't understand how people don't do this, but then again I was doing it the wrong way for a long time too. I think it's more of an education issue than anything else. Glad to see this being shared.

Well, if you must have it.

That is for the Toyota 86 and FRS. I do not know, if it is the complete kit. or if there is anything additional. I would message Nijel and see what he knows about it.

The most common driver error is improperly adjusted mirrors. First center you rear view so it's looking straight behind you down the lane you're in. Fan out both side view mirrors. Adjust them so that a car passing you, on either side, comes into view of your side view mirror BEFORE he goes out of view from your rear view mirror. Fine tune this so that the car will come into your peripheral vision BEFORE he leaves your side view mirror. A slight head check might be required but that will be all. Do this and you won't have any blind spots.

Yea, I just turn my head to be sure and adjust my mirrors. The sensors I found for OP are 850 plus shipping and tax.

For some people with neck injury they would be helpful. but for 850 I have other things earmarked for that kind of extra money.

I was thinking about this today. I read the blind spot thing and I would have to agree this car has a horrible blind spot. I dont look forwar to changing lanes becaus of it. A lot say you can adjust the mirrors to get rid of it but I disagree. If you set up your mirrors for fixing one blind spot you will open up a motorcycle blind spot. I live in CA where lane splitting is allowed. That's the danger. I have owned and driven many cars and trucks. This car has a massive over the right shoulder blind spot. Lets not ignore it, and lets find a way to fix it. Anybody know if a small interior dash mirror. Or MG style on the front wheel well (kidding on this option)
