MysteryMachine's BRZ (SWP '14 Limited)

My BRZ came in just before I left for a month long business trip (it was scheduled to arrive just after I left so it was a very pleasant surprise that I got to see it). :happyanim:

Early December 2013:
Here she is getting the first thing done - bumper to bumper matte protectant film. Almost all done except the bumpers and some other tricky pieces. The clear matte film allows it to retain the sparkle of the stock SWP paint, but give it a soft look.

Mid December 2013:
Perrin 4" antenna
Tint 35% sides, 20% back

Late December 2013:

OEM Audio Plus 400CF, Body color enclosure, also matte film coated
Speedline wide polarized + heated mirrors (also contains LED turns inside mirror but have not hooked up yet)

Mid January 2014:
Wife borrows car, somehow gets the bottom coated in cow sh*t :mad0260:

Early February 2014:
Grimmspeed hood struts
PhastekSport Billet Aluminum catch can (requires a few parts from home dept/lowes less than $5.. not direct bolt on for FRS/BRZ despite what is says on their website)

Mid February 2014:
JPM Coachworks:
-Alcantara knee pads
-Alcantara wrapped european OEM armrest
-Leather e-brake boot
-Leather shift boot
Treated all plastic and leather in the interior with 303 Aerospace protectant (normally would not list this on a build but since applying it seems to keep everything much cleaner - dust and such no longer accumulates on dash, the door cards don't scuff from shoes as easily etc - very pleased)

That should look nice out in the sun! Definitely excited to see it in person.

Catch can after 2 weeks commuting back and forth to work (15 min drive) + 1 long 3 hr stop and go ugly round trip to the airport (hurray Austin traffic). Interestingly after 1 week there was only a small bit of fuel with a tiny bit of oil just enough to change the color but this week is more oil than fuel. For the $88 and 1hr install seems a worthwhile investment in my book not to have this going back into the engine.

That is on my short list, I am close to doing the Forester XT oil cooler diy install and a catch can will likely be shortly there after. I am also wanting to get my wheels already too though. I need a sugar mama lol.

Hey @Turkish, I can show you how I did the install of the catch can etc since you are local. I spent a lot of time and effort figuring it out (no instructions), but now that I've done it, it would go very quick. We could even do together. No need for DIY Texas or anything we could do in the driveway. The options for cans I researched are the Radium (very nice but very expensive and not easy to drain), the cusco (too flashy for me and if you get it don't follow their instructions they are wrong), the crawford (high quality, expensive, and I am not sure if I like the fact it drains back into the crankcase), the one I bought from phasteksport (made for a camaro but can fit our car with minor modifications, affordable, looks OEM), or ebay etc.

@JPM Coachworks thanks for making such high quality items and great customer service as well. Just those 4 items make my whole interior look and feel much more high class. Now the fake leather shift knob looks pathetic next to that beautiful leather - I wish someone offered a perforated leather knob for the automatic like the STI knob for manual.

Its the self healing ultimate film from Xpel. Ultimate is available in gloss (normal option) or matte (which is called stealth). I wouldn't say its not 100% matte but more satin. Quite similar to the frozen paint option on BMWs. I suppose it depends on what surface you place it on - maybe on a matte surface it would be totally matte.

I personally really love it - its exactly the look I was hoping for, a nice soft finish which really brings out the pearl. It looks amazing in the sun and also under street lights at night. On cloudy overcast days like today the pearl doesn't show as much. Also since moving to Texas my other car (2002 Impreza Outback Sport) has rock chips everywhere so I enjoy the peace of mind :)

What color is your BRZ? I've wondered what it would look like on one of the other colors - especially Asphalt.

My brz is galaxy blue, but my winter car which has an equal chance of being wrapped is a dark grey metallic (asphalt) 09 impreza. Did you do the wrap yourself or have a shop do it. It looked to be much thinner than vinyl from my quick research.

I had the Xpel office here in Austin do it. (All other mods I do myself)

Yes, was this way even when just delivered to the dealership. I'm not exactly sure what that hole is for, always wondered....
