My review of QuantumBlue Custom Blended Oil
Since the twins came out I'm sure most of you like myself are very particular on what oil they use. I always believed in Mobile1 and I still do but why not look for something better. A couple months after i got my car I found some reviews of a custom blended oil called QuantumBlue that is made specifically for your application. When I called BND the CEO, Brian answered the phone and asked me several questions like my climate, driving habits, and aftermarket parts. Brian also mentioned that the 0w-20 is an economy oil and is used to offer better EPA ratings rather than protecting the engine. He blended me a 7.5w 27 weight oil specifically for my car and future aftermarket parts like a supercharger. He also guarantees that his oil will last at least 9000 miles. I'm a bit skeptical of that but I am waiting for my BlackStone oil test kit to test my oil at around 3,500 miles and I will do so every 2000 miles till I reach the 9000 mark.

Interesting, mind if I ask how much it cost you?

I forgot to mention that he also blended me gear oil for my differential and transmission and you can really feel an improvement. Its not notchy when warm and its easy to put it in second gear when cold. The oil filter is also from BND.

Ultra High Output eh. He must have never driven a stock BRZ. I wonder what they put on the bottle for a Bugatti.
|
He has it labeled as Ultra High Output because it was designed for a supercharger application. Not for a stock BRZ.

dang, you're 17 and really serious about this car.
btw, I visited Cape May last winter. Quite nice to visit, especially the SS Atlantus, only a piece of concrete is left. |
This is something I definitely want to look into... waiting to see your results. Thanks for bringing this to attention though !

I have read really mixed reviews about this stuff, so I'll be interested to see your results.

Reasons not buy this product:
The sticker on the radiator fluid bottle looks like it was made in Microsoft Word. It was probably printed from an inkjet printer onto some Avery label paper and stuck on to the bottle. They even creased the label paper. This makes the product look very fishy. Did you buy this from someone's basement or garage? Brian, the "CEO", must not have many employees or have any business to attend to, if he personally picks up the phone. BND Automotive is a LLC. If you dont know what that means Google it. BND Automotive's website is a joke. I created better websites when I was 12. The only address listed on the website is a PO Box. Google Maps search for this company links you to someone's home. If you look at the street view, Brian is mowing his lawn. https://www.google.com/maps/preview#...20!2i1074!4f75 You have to call to place an order over the phone. It is 2013 and their company does not offer online purchasing. Google results for BND Automotive nets zero supportive reviews or mentions. There are single posts in misc. car forums, similar to this one. No one has even heard of BND but you. This is clearly a shill from some guy with 9 posts, who joined this month. Take a look at his profile and see what those 9 posts were about. His post offers no feedback of the product but is titled as a review. It sounds more like a product offering/advertisement. Threads like these should be deleted and he should be banned. |
Let's see............I believe that Under Armour started the same way......so we will all be interested in seeing your analysis results from the next oil change.
Their website isn't all that bad and one thing I read said that they have a 25,000 gallon holding tank, which I doubt is in some guys basement. While this company isn't Mobil, Motul or Royal Purple, how do you condemn it without much knowledge of their products? I'd say that until you have results from testing, you give them the benefit of the doubt until we know otherwise. |

This is all marketing BS and over the top... Highly unlikely you will ever Have an issue with any synthetic oil if it's the right type for your car.. But if it makes you feel good.... |
Before all you critics out there have nothing but negative things to say about a product why not wait for the results. Only because someone can make a homemade candy bar at home you automatically assume it's worse than a Nestle bar you buy in the store. Wait for the results. Brain handles things on the consumer side. The business was originally government contracted and does a lot more business on the commercial side.
