Let's not forget BW fumbled the launch on those turbos so hard too - they were basically vaporware for two years or something IIRC?

Sometimes unexpected delays come up. But if the product is readily available now and works as advertised, this is no longer an issue.

no... still going to a 3076r, probably just not so soon :). got some other things to take care of first (mainly traction lol).

The BW EFR turbos are no joke. I can assure this setup will be solid.

Full-Race is pricey for what you get though I concede the quality is high. Their single-scroll kits aren't much less expensive than their twin-scroll kits and I still haven't seen a lot of data on the EFR turbos in Subaru applications. I never understood whats so special about EFR turbos...

There's plenty of info on the Full-Race website. They're Borg Warner's "premium" turbo offering that incorporates many modern advancements. Basically a competitor to the Garrett GTX series.

The unique offerings are on the smaller end. Their internal wastegate design flows better than most traditional internal wastegates, and some are available with built in bypass valves, so you can design a more compact turbo system. Not sure how much that applies to our cars or what Full-Race is working on.

I basically want 400whp on east coast 93oct pump gas.. I believe that will be the focus on this kit.. Daily 400whp.. Second thing is they want it to react as quickly as it can compared to a SC. This will also have an option for bigger turbos in your preference..

400rwhp out of a gt2871 would be impressive. I was under the impression that those turbos even with a .83 a/r would fall off around 375rwhp.

And the " only at 15psi " is all relative. It might seem like a low number of boost but on any other low compression motor like the ej's, you would need 20+ psi to achieve that power. Turbo's seem impressive on this motor because of the high compression and great flowing heads, but in reality you're not gonna push more out of a gt28 on this motor than any other, a turbo car will only push what max hp the turbo can deliver.

Full Race makes great stuff but "daily 400WHP" on 93 octane isn't realistic on this car. Not unless they are including a built short block with the kit. You'd have to run 16-18 PSI on most turbos to get there. "Daily 300WHP" is more realistic.

I understand the relationship between boost and compression. My point was that the 387hp run was at 15psi, where I can run up to ~24psi, so obviously 400whp is well within reach of the turbo.

I apologize if it seemed like I was insulting your intelligence, was not my intent. I agree that 400rwhp is easily do-able on a gtx28, not on a gt28 however.

No problem... And yes I agree the old disco potato wouldn't be quite as productive as the newer gtx's. I think the most people saw with those back in the day was around 320-350. A 2871 would get it done, you'd just need a bit more boost I believe.

Will do piston n rods once it gets back to jersey.. I will push it to its limits..

So yes 400 will not be a far fetch for me..

Mustang88_357mag 03-08-2014 11:53 PM

Full race is the kit I will go with when I turbo mine, I had their kit on my 01 ITR and it was amazing
