C&D: Japanese delays should not effect US allotments.
 

Seems Car and Driver has word that the delays to the Japanese BRZ will not impact us in the US.

About what I expected. Though it seems it could cause issues if Subaru wants to bump up the first year production beyond the original 6000 units.

I suspect we'll have other issues that cuase delays as the summer and fall progress.. This resin thing might be an issue.. who knows what other supplier shortages and weather issues or labor issues might cause problems as well..

But for the moment, it's good to hear that the US market was affected by that talk of delay.

thats what I kinda thought...US markets sell a lot more units then japan...especially how popular these cars are here in the US!!

For what it's worth, that article says the BRZs are now in transit. The info about SOA having a meeting about dealer markups is good to hear too.

They'll have a meeting, but I think all that will happen is "a stern talking to".

Yeah there's a fine line vs price fixing and "Hey we really want these cars on the road so can you please follow our suggestion and not charge $5,000 over MSRP... but you can if you want...but don't...but you can really...* monthly allotment* *cough*."

I called my dealer early this morning.... had a bad feeling.... they said they expect their first shipment in August.... really? August? Fuck u, why didn't u call me Subaru of Cherry Hill....

I rushed their and put a deposit so I would be 1st on their list... and I only got 1 call from them ever, and that was about the NY Auto Show ...
