DC Sports Header thoughts/feedback

DC Sports Header is going for $525.99 on ft86sf and $504.95 on phastek. Seems like a nice price.

Description of header (video too): http://www.phasteksport.com/2013-Sci...der-ssr704.htm

How is this header? Anyone actually using it? Worth it or is there a better header for this price range?

They look good. Wonder how they sound though, I dont like raspy exhaust systems.

my guess would be 6-8whp

I'm gonna go with garbage. At that price, the quality suffered somewhere.

I've seen the prototype at their shop. It's sad that I couldn't hear the sound or to drive it to give pros & cons feedback :(

Probably so, but i still think i would buy this one before a borla :) I'm not buying either since i already have an FA20club and still waiting for something better to come along.

You can't necessarily say that. Just because something is cheaper doesn't mean the quality is always worse.

I don't think he said that because it's cheaper. Even a vendor on the forum, who carries DC products, said that they are garbage.

DC sports has a pretty bad reputation.

What makes a header garbage vs not garbage?

Overall build quality? welding?
HP/TQ gains?
Reliability?
Material?
Conformity/placement?
All the above?

Material, reliability, fitment. Gains are a bonus once tuned, but I'm more worried about those first 3 categories over the gains. Typically a header that meets the first three, the gains will follow. This header also comes with 0 warranty, so it cracks, you're out $500 bucks.

Sure it's 304 SS, but the question is where is that supplied from?

If it doesn't come with a warranty I'd put my money on the borla. Least their customer service is tried and true. But like you I won't be buying one cause I have a rev works lol
