What did you do to your car with the 30-day tags still on?
Just got my plates today and can't believe I've already had it a month. People at work were laughing that I'm already messing with it with the 30-day tags still on it. What all did everyone do with their 30-day tags still on?
So far I've already gutted the sound tube (then plugged it all the way up), redded out the tails, debadged it, and painted the stockers bronze. Next up tint and springs. http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ps287b32b8.jpg |
I actually never had temp tags on. I was able to put my old license plate from my truck on. I didn't do anything to it though, but cuss to myself because it was my first manual.

I did the hood, trunk, fender vent, baked my headlights open, chopped off the roof and installed carbon fiber roof, installed turbo kit, wheels, suspension... probably missing a lot here too. Still paper plate pimpin'

Valve stem caps upgrade and put 1,000+ miles on it.

Hm, my car just had my dealership advertisement. I haven't seen paper plates in my life. I live in SoCal. :O
|
I don't think California has temp plates. I've never seen one. Just dealer plates. I know some people keep dealer plates on their car forever. My boss has had his dealer plates on his car for like 5+ years and has never had a ticket lol...

Haha yea this is the first time I've had paper plates. I've always traded my cars off and just transferred the tags immediately but this time I kept the old car so I needed to wait for new tags for the Subaru.

List of things I did to mine in the first 30 days: drove it a lot. |
my plan is to buy from clint in colorado, make it to the top of pikes peak in the first 100 miles, and then drive it 1,000 miles home....

It seems like more and more states are having you just transfer your old plates over and not issuing new ones. Been seeing a lot of rusty old blue NJ plates (which aren't even reflective, and haven't been issued in the past decade) on brand new cars. When I got the BRZ, I just brought the plates over from my LGT. I had a plain black metal frame on the LGT and the dealership was kind enough to uninstall it, put the plate on the BRZ, and install it with a cheap black plastic frame with the dealership's slogan and website. :slap: That lasted on the car until the second time I drove it, then my plain black metal frame went back on, and the only reason it lasted that long is because it started pouring rain right after picking up the car.
Back on topic, I didn't do a ton. Opti-coat, clear bra, installed a dashcam, and hardwired my radar detector. |
I managed to get my old plate transferred over to my BRZ before it arrived and had a paper plate put on my (at the time) current car, as I was going to sell it within 30 days. Car arrived, old plate transferred over. Quick and easy.

Well tinted the windows, New Rims and I presume that the brushed Aluminum Dash inlay will be here before the plates, plus Titanium Shift Knob, Rain Deflectors.
I'll post a new picture later to cold for this AZ transplant.http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/j...psdfaf67a4.jpg |
In the first 30 days:
PPF on front bumper. De-badged my car. Carsmo center console armrest. Broke 1000 miles. Took her sideways. |
