Brake upgrade if you're looking at 350hp
Hey Guys and Girls,
What Brake upgrade would you recommend you'd need if you were to look at going down the FI option to the power level of around 350hp? Cheers. |
What are you doing? Street? Track?
Generic answer? Pads, rotors, fluid. I am in the middle of a forged build atm... i plan on simple pads & new rotors. I already have my fluid swapped out. Stay away from drilled/slotted for street as they can wear down the pads faster, and reduce stopping friction. There are other cheaper ways to get "cooling" benefits than having holes in your rotors. ;) My car is a daily drive... I plan on small bits of casual track (HPDE). But nothing much. You "shouldn't" be going fast enough to need big power brakes on the street. And regardless of the fact if you aren't locking your tires up when hitting the brakes you likely don't need an upgrade. (rule of thumb for street). You can gain heat benefits of upgraded brakes for track cars. but this is why we need a tad more info than your horsepower. |
Hey,
The car will be used for 80% street and rest would be for track so once amonth a track day / session. I do have some very nice mt roads here that i travel a great deal atleast 3 times a week which is pretty intense for about 2 hours worth of breaking. |
Brake. Braking. Brakes.

essex racing sprit kit. It's small to fit under 17s. Even with more power the car is still light.
