WTB FA20 Longblock / Shortblock

I am looking to build a new motor for a higher boost setup. Looking for a long/short block. Looking to purchase immediately. Even if it may be slightly damaged PM me I might still be interested. I would prefer in SW region unless price is reasonable due to obvious shipping prices. I am located in Arizona.

He is looking to sell RIGHT NOW.

Car is 10000% stock, daily drives it a few miles to work and thats it.

He is not much in the forum, but PM me and I'll relay information.

He is a mechanic, owns a shop, and literally would pull the motor next day after payment.

@KAB-FRS

I did see this one, and if I do need heads I will consider it. I did get a lead on two others with heads for 2,500-3,000 $ range. But obviously I can't verify their conditions. There are also a number of vendors pre-built short blocks near that persons price so it makes me lean towards not wanting it. Though until I can get some solid info on what is safe in the use of rod bearings (check thread with don@accelerated) I am a little afraid to just purchase a pre-built long block.

I appreciate you forwarding that to me though! :) Its better to be re-linked posts than not linked at all!

Also I have yet to determine if my heads are salvageable. Due to my current work load I may not be able to tear down my block for 3-6 weeks. *sigh*.

Fair enough. One last thing to add is that he will entertain reasonable offers. Good luck on your search!

Well maybe mid week I will get an offer to send him once I can catch up on work and figure a few things out. Figured I would at least toss this thread up and find some "options" while im trying to figure out my exact plans. For now my car is a damn nice freshly waxed & detailed paper weight. LOL

So far best runner up is one on ebay from canada. Been talking with a number of salvage yards as well... Hoping to get one within the next few weeks!

I pm'd your buddy. :) But I am pretty sure he will want more than I am looking for... as Im literally just tearing the motor apart the second I get it =x. Figured its worth a shot though!

just out of curiosity, what price range are you seeing for the longblock prices in your search?

$2,500-$3,500 typically. (including shipping). The cheapest I have seen shipped to the SW was $2,275 shipped from Canada. I have also seen some full swaps in the range of $3,000-$4,500 shipped (as in engine + trans, sometimes ECU).

I missed a deal last week on a full swap for $3,000 shipped that was local. :( I didn't realize it was for sale I would have grabbed it!

If I don't find anything stateside in the next ~ 10days I'll likely contact the company in Canada and have one shipped down.

Can you forward me the message? He is not here much, but I can relay the offer right now by phone.

Edit: I just told him to go and look in his PMs for the offer.
