It's a FA20DIT which isn't quite the same as the FA20 in our cars, but still crazy. 2L de-stroked to 1.6L and turbo, probably revs to 9000 RPM.

It is expected that it will produce in excess of 550bhp and can run with very little cooling indeed due to its use of a patented ‘Pseudo Adiabatic’ combustion process.
How cool is that?

Answer: So cool, it's practically adiabatic!

It's in the new wrx, forester and legacy. The FA20DIT is replacing the turbo ej2xx motors. This particular version probably is far from any of the motors you'll see in a stock subaru.

You'd think with this kind of development, we can get some trickle down parts like... CAMS. :mad0259:

Because..... it's not ;)

It's not going to be used in a road car.

EvilBeaverFace 11-17-2013 06:53 AM
