I keep mounting the kerb? Any possible damages?

Hi guys!

So I keep forgetting how low this car is (compared to my other car which is a normal family sedan) and always go in a little too deep when parking at lots and scrape the underside of the front of my car (probably did this 5 times total now) making that scrape noise that we all dread in the cabin.

Could this have possibly damaged anything under there? I don't mind the scratches as you can't see it unless you duck down but I am worried something might have come loose under the plastic panels.

Thanks.

only one way to find out.... jack up the car and see :)

Is there anything under there that could be damaged? Are there plates that guard the components apart from the plastic?

It just the front part of the car.

Unless your bumper is cracked/broken I doubt you have any more damage than paint scratches.

Is there anything behind the plastic like a metal frame?

You're fine.

Like everyone said, you're fine. Just try to make it a habit to stop before the curb. I do it in all our cars anyway

I bumped a tall parking curb a while back very lightly, and 4 or 5 of the plastic push-rivets popped off. You might check under your front bumper and make sure all the little plastic push-rivets are still in place.

I've just gotten into the habbit of backing into parking spaces, and no more scrapes.

The car isn't "that low" in stock form. Stop doing it lol. All that you've likely damaged is your pride.

Your car is most likely OK.

In reference to parking stops, I have found out NEVER to assume:

* they are all the same height
* they are at every parking space
* they are all in a line
* they are perpendicular to the parking stall
* the pins don't stick up above the concrete

.....and I don't wanna talk about how I know this .... :mad0260:

There is a lot of overhang at the tips of the front bumper that is very easy to scrape on driveways or roads that dip down or up from street level.
There is no way i could lower mine and still drive around sydney.

Gotcha. I had problems on my lowered RSX getting up my parents driveway but they modified that for me ages ago lol. Honestly, that driveway is the only hazardous terrain ide ever have to deal with if I were to go low. Sucks to hear bro!
