Norcal86 Relief Aid Event For the Philippines @ Sonoma Raceway

Hello Norcal!

If you have been listening to the news, then you have heard that the Philippines was struck by one of the strongest typhoon recorded in history. With more than 10,000 feared dead and hundreds of thousands left homeless and hungry.

In the efforts to help out the Philippines, we are organizing a fundraiser/relief aid event.

We will be sending boxes and crates via LBC (shipping company) to the Philippines. LBC has waived all shipping fees during this time.

We expect to gather, used clothes, shoes, toiletries, and other survival items during the event.

WHERE: WORKS Motorsports @ Sonoma Raceway
WHEN: tentative date is NOV 23.
TIME: TBA

We are also trying to coordinate with the EVO community to join us.

Please RSVP if you are able to attend and commit to this special event.

If we get a lot of cars, we will have to move down the track by the paddocks.

Opinions and suggestions are welcome :)

Thanks JR for setting this up. I, myself won't be able to make it that day due to prior engagements, but would like to help out (I can drop some stuff off to you at a different time). Good on LBC for helping out. Perhaps you can also hook up with a larger organization for money donations?

For those who can't make it but want to help, donating money is the fastest way to help out. Here are a few organizations mobilizing to help out:

Philippine Red Cross: http://www.redcross.org.ph/
UNICEF: https://secure.unicefusa.org/site/Do...donation=form1
World Food Program: https://secure2.convio.net/fwfp/site...donation=form1
Doctors Without Borders: https://www.doctorswithoutborders.or...HYASw&mpch=ads
Habitat for Humanity: http://www.give2habitat.org/philippi...ildPhilippines
Salvation Army: https://donate.salvationarmyusa.org/TyphoonHaiyan

Remember, when donating to large organizations, to specify that the donation is for Typhoon Hayian/Yolanda relief (money gets sent to the local chapter if not specified).

Thanks for all the help!

I may have a few things i can donate, but i can't make this date due to having already set a toy drive meet here in stockton on that day (unless your meet is in the morning as mine doesnt start until 4)

Will you be at the Dublin meet this friday by any chance and I could hand it off to you then?
