Perrin CAI air filter clean

i have a Perrin CAI and I want to clean the air filter that goes behind the bumper. Is it ok to use the K&N recharge kit or I need anything else to do it?

No, do not use the K&N kit. We recommend using any cleaning kit that is designed specifically for a FOAM filter.

For example the UNI Foam Filter Cleaning Kit.

Any other brands?

I just went to a local performance motorbike/ATV shop and picked up foam filter cleaner and foam filter oil. Bel-Ray, FFT, Motul, Castrol, PF1 are a few other brands.

The cleaning intervals that we recommend are every 5-10K miles.

@Hawk77FT - As Apoc stated, there are many brands that you are able to purchase. Most can be found at your local motorcycle/ATV shops. You just need to make sure that it is specifically designed for the foam filter.

Do you have to pull the front bumper every time you clean it?

Yes, the bumper does have to be removed to access the intake.

Ohhhhh duh okay my bad. Yeah I have the intake on now and might need to switch to something else. With these Arizona dust storms I can't be pulling that bumper all the time to clean the filter.

Is there a cleaning procedure specific to perrin CAI? And is there a specific oil that you would recommend on using on the foam once it is clean and ready to go back In the car?
