KW V3's pros & cons

So I will be picking up a set of KW V3 tomorrow and thought I would see what the feedback is in regards to pros and cons so let me hear what you think as this is my first experience with these!

What are you looking to do? If you plan to just daily the car, they would be good street coilovers over a majority of suspension kits out there. If you dial in the suspension incorrectly (like any suspension kit), then they can possibly be worse than stock.

Edit: Not trying to alienate your decision. Just finding out what you want to do with the suspension to better answer your question. If you need help dialing in the suspension and finding out the optimal alignment setup, don't hesitate to contact me or @CSG Mike.

Why are you getting V3? Do you know how to dial in suspension settings? Do you know what compression adjustments do for you vs. rebound?

This is a serious question, because I have a feeling you don't know how to use the V3 to their full advantage.

+1.

You're totally right. KW's are great for comfort, but there are better systems out there for performance if you do the right research.

Fortunately, we offer suspension tuning services, so he doesn't have to worry about that :party0030:

I know, but I think a lot of people are buying these high-end suspension kits thinking it's some miracle setup that will tune itself.

"Pros vs cons" of a KW V3 setup should already be decided before one buys it, not a "what's the good and bad of this setup I'm picking up tomorrow" comment...

cons: no camber plates, expensive for a twin-tube

Ohlins TTX is a twin tube. Would you consider that as expensive for a twin tube?

Well I have done my research and no I don't believe there a miracle setup that will tune itself. Yes this will be a DD and for weekend canyon fun and then end up on the track occasionally but that won't be for awhile. I didn't just jump and say I need to buy these because their high end which I am getting at a great price which is comparable to some lower quality setups. I didn't realize asking a simple question would be met with such harsh criticism? I am competent enough to know my limits knowledge wise and I will definitely get help dialing it in for my needs. My question was more for opinions to see what people were experiencing good or bad and not to help me make a decision!

I think you'll be just fine. If anything you may end up adjusting the balance by changing sways, and getting the actual settings dialed in by us, but once it's set, you'll be happy with the setup.

if you spend a little more you could get ast coilvers with custom spring rates.

Racecomp Engineering 11-13-2013 12:19 AM

If you're considering KW V3, I'd recommend our RCE Tarmac 2 clubsport coilovers. We worked with KW closely to build our own option with spring rates of 400 lbs/in front and rear (with custom options available). You're basically get the more aggressive KW Clubsport coilover with a few our tweaks, but around the price of the KW V3s. And you get the lifetime warranty. Something to think about. :)
