How to determine whether TSB applies to my car?
Each TSB has a date. Suppose it is Dec. 2, 2012. Suppose my car was made in Apr. 2013. Is it safe to assume that the issue dealt with by the TSB has already been taken care of?
My car was made in July 2013. So far only the crickets and the engine sensor issues TSBs are later that that. So does it mean that I do not have to worry about other issues like tail light condensation, rear deck popping etc? Also for the engine sensor one, I do not find anything wrong with my car, but it seems to be a problem. Is the dealer going to help if I bring the car in and perform the related service what so ever? Is it a good thing to my car? Thanks for the help. |
TSB's have VIN ranges on them which are more important than the publish date. Reference the VIN on the TSB with the VIN on your car, can be found either in the door jam or under the windshield by the drivers side.
Other than that if you have the symptoms go and complain even if you're outside the VIN range. |
How you "determine" if a TSB is applicable or not to you is, well, not your job. That is the job of the competent dealer service advisor.
If you are relying on internet forums to see what TSBs apply to your BRZ, you're doing it wrong. SOP in this case is: 1) Provide VIN to dealer. 2) Get TSB fixed, if needed, as determined by service advisor. -alex |
