FR-S Contest

I didn't see anything else about people saying there was a contest to win a Scion in Canada, so I thought I'd post it. If you are a Canadian resident (thus why I posted this in the Canada regional section) you can enter to win an FR-S. I didn't read through the rules and I'm not that familiar with contests in Canada, but here is the link FR-S Contest

He means the first 86 is only a chance to spend money on a car, not actually them giviing away a car for free like in cananda

I believe for those of us who will be getting an FR-S prior to the winner being announced in October, if you win you won't be forced to have 2 of them - by law the winner is allowed to take the cash equivalent.

AX_FRS 04-18-2012 11:24 PM

That depends on what they actually put in the rules. You can typically decline to accept a prize, but they don't usually have to give you cash in lieu of that unless they say they will. It should all be in the rules.

^ I'm talking about Canadian law - your US situation may be completely different.

Looks like you can't exchange it for money, unless they say so.

^That may not stand up legally here in Ontario, I think I read that winners of any such contest have the right to take a cash equivalent, could be wrong though.

If you had already bought one and won, I wonder what Scion would do? They'd get a lot of bad publicity forcing you to take a second one.

That's true, but wouldn't it be awesome if the car is so popular they run out of stock (which will never happen lol) and you can sell it for a profit. I really don't understand why they said it can't be converted to cash though. They can always just give you the money and sell it to another person for the same price.

Anything you make on it is pure profit lol.

Giving you cash costs the company more than just giving you a car.

Or you can have one for commuter and one for track :)
