My $74 Spoiler Project

So I really wanted to get a subtle spoiler/lip for my car. That said, I'm a cheap bastard and I don't like to spend much money. I looked around at the options for a while and I decided that I really wasn't in the mood to pay $400-500 for such a small piece. The solution? Pick up an inexpensive one, and paint/install it myself. I should also note that this is the first piece of body work I have ever done, so I was a bit worried. ANYWAYS, here are my results. I spent $47 on paint/primer/clear to finish it up. I think it looks nice and the color match was great for a rattle can:

Looks like a TRD spoiler.

@SkitterSkotter bro you could easily make a business out of selling those for slightly more but cheaper than the 400$ ones...just saying. Looks good bro!

Good job with the paint. However, my question to you as follow since you start this project with unprinted spoiler,

1. Did you use adhesion promoter before you put on the primer?
2. And did you use the primer at all before the base coat?

If you don't use the listed above, I am not sure how long your spoiler paint will stick on.

I sanded the bumper when I first got it so it was smooth as glass. Next I used two coats of a primer meant to bond to that type of plastic. then I did 4 lays of base coat and 3 layers of clear. I'm pretty sure the paint won't be falling off.
